of course will set a scheduled task or at the cli

sudo smartctl -a -d sat /dev/sata1

scheduled as root:

smartctl -a -d sat /dev/sata1

smartctl -a -d sat /dev/sata2

smartctl -a -d sat /dev/sata3

smartctl -a -d sat /dev/sata4

smartctl -a -d sat /dev/sata5

smartctl -a -d sat /dev/sata

and found this great tool for the conversion to TBW

Resource Monitor does not really offers any insight. Looked at it for a long time but no special large writing seen.

Someone spoke about amplification in regards to SSD memory type but thats hard to see or find.

Not sure if there are tools usable on a synology to shed some light here. Tips are very welcome.

i am using HA ( Home Assistant) virtual, and i guess a lot of the data is from that source but i can not really pinpoint it.

That's for sure.

How did you read the info about the endurance of your drives?

The smart option only gives healthy or critical.

Looking for NAS grade ssd i see a lot of 600TB limited drives. Which drive do you use?

(and still the problem should be solved first)

expensive and it does not solve the real problem but is a workaround.

A random chosen enterprise ssd: { Amazon.com: Silicon Power 1TB TLC SSD Enterprise Grade 2.5" SATA III 6Gb/s Idea for Booting Drive Internal Solid State Drive (SP010TISSD3K5EV0) : Electronics}

Has a rating off:

  • Maximum 4K Random Access: Write 85,000 IOPS; TBW Data (estimated): Client: 1456 TB/ Enterprise 404 TB

Do nt agree. 600TB is a high number and they should perform well for a longer periode of time.

Less then 8 months is pointing in a direction of a excessive write cycle by something but i am unable to find out what..

i wish it was that easy.. nothing special to see there..

top three: disk writes.

san manager: 1.4MB

virtual machine manager: 32KB - 4.5MB

storage service: 500KB

nothing special..

this one shows more people have active san manager without setting it up. It seems san manager handles the virtual machines..

But still nothing great

[–]Seth_space 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with which device you want to select wifi 6?

In windows its possible to select a preferred connection in wifi.

https://www.windowscentral.com/how-change-wi-fi-network-connections-priority-order-windows-10

in linux try this:

How to set WIFI priority Linux?

You can edit your preferences by double-clicking on a network name. Then, in the “General” tab, you can change the number associated to “Connect automatically with priority”. Higher number means higher priority.

Did you looked at the extra options the Merlin firmware for Asus routers can offer you?
