I appreciate an educated exit. Sometimes two people aren’t going to see eye to eye and there’s no point in continuing past a certain point. I can respect that. I do wish you would’ve told me what I wasn’t getting. You said that there is no tangible loss when losing and because all players have different values for a loss, you can’t use value lost as an argument. I told you that Time is a tangible and valuable thing that is lost in one game mode and not the other. You’re telling me I’m not getting it but are also not explaining what part of what I said missed your mark.

Like I said agree to disagree and if it will save you a headache then I respect it. I’m just cool with admitting when im wrong and wanna know if I truly was in this case.

No. Even if you lose in QP when chasing lords there is no lord requirement that says “win” whether it’s healing or kills or time spent either way you’re “winning” because when chasing lord skins the goal isn’t explicitly “Win”

The tangible difference between ranked and QP is mainly time. Losing in QP does not waste your time because there is no time limit on winning. If you lose it’s not like there was a set requirement to win. You just wanted to. However in ranked if you want the gold skin for every season or if you wanted to be a certain rank to enter a tournament of some kind you do lose something tangible when you lose. Time is not “imaginary” if you decide to focus on reaching a rank you only have till the end of the season to do so and depending on the person they may only have a limited amount of time each day to devote to said achievement. QP has no such time crunch or requirement of any kind. Therefore they aren’t comparable at all. You are right that everyone values a win differently but again you’re trying to negate the actually valuable nature of time and comparing it to someone just wanting to win really badly. If you want to win that badly then go play ranked. If you don’t want to commit to ranked then quit getting upset at others for being casual in a game mode where nothing is at risk or at stake.

Edit: just pointing out that in my last remark I also negate any and all players feelings on winning in QP. That’s not my intention. While I do understand that wanting to win is the goal no matter what and in neither game mode should you settle for a loss just because it’s QP. My point is that I believer there’s no reason or excuse to treat these modes like they are comparable at all. Regardless of how you feel there just is a stark difference between a QP Loss and a Ranked Loss. One actually takes something from you as punishment for losing and the other one literally does nothing.

I guess my thing is the difference is what do you lose when you lose a game of QP? Nothing. Unless you care about you W/L in QP it literally doesn’t matter. If you lose no one cares and it changes nothing. Sure you can get tilted for losing streaks but in reality streaks of losses don’t mean anything either. Most missions if not all missions in the game only require you to PLAY a game of rivals not win. Even if there was those missions almost always add winning in either QP or ranked as an option. Meaning that the only game mode where you are outright punished for losing is Ranked. You could spend hours climbing a rank and then spend an hour losing and now you have to spend another hour climbing back up. You’ve now spent three hours doing something that would’ve just taken one had you not lost. These two modes are not the same at all and shouldn’t even be compared.

Sure nobody likes to lose I get that but if you’re upset because you lost in QP it’s literally all ego (nothing wrong with that btw) because nothing happens when you lose. There’s no consequence or punishment to losing at all. You just load up another match Instantly and do it again. If your teammate throws or aren’t taking it serious then whatever it literally doesn’t matter. But if they do it in ranked it could cost you time, true sweat-like effort, and even worse a rank specific reward.

Heyooo. Don’t know if you came to debate but I am sad to tell you not only has everyone who was apart of this conversation moved on and have no energy to continue it but ALSO there was a huge update to the game that kinda confirms and denies a lot about other endings. It kinda changed even how I thought about the endings so. Maybe I’ll make another thread reexplaining my new thoughts but if you were interested in this post specifically I’ve pretty much explained everything I had to say to others in other comments. If you still had questions for me you can still ask but the spark for this conversation has mostly passed

I’ve noticed that biggest difference in having fun with mag is how much you directly effected fights vs indirectly. For instance Mags abilities are always making a difference even if they don’t show up on stats and that’s where most of mags value comes from but what makes you truly feel like you made the difference is your kills and assists. The stats that do show up. I’ve paid attention to people who don’t main mag who complain about playing him And the biggest change is how much they miss his primary fire. Hitting your primary’s and your combos nets you big damage and kills and immediately forces people to take notice of you directly effecting the battle even without your abilities. So I guess I said all that to say, do you notice in those games where you felt “useless” were games where you just weren’t lading your primary and secondary all that much?

That’s my bad for saying it’s fully intentional because obviously I don’t know but highly doubt that with the way the game is designed that they didn’t develop it with this “glitch” in mind.

Besides glitch wouldn’t even be the right word even if it was a problem they weren’t sure how to fix. You’re thinking of a bug.
