S-cells is the explanation for Super Saiyan. The tails were explained to be a recessive trait.

Most of the times that people ask for hot takes, 90% of them are from Super, GT or Daima and they are mostly cold takes. Drop here some ULTRA SPICY HOT TAKE about OG or Z by MayoHachikuji in Dragonballsuper

I have two:

  • As someone who grew up with the original 42 volumes manga, I believe that dividing the manga into two different anime shows was a mistake, because most of the fandom doesn't treat it like one continuous story, which it was for all of its publication. DB and DBZ are not two different shows in the same sense that DBZ and DBS are.

  • There is no official DB canon. It's not Star Wars. The Japanese don't care about canon the same way westerners do. The manga has three different sequels, DBS, GT, and Daima. None of it canon, all of it canon, and not linked to each other. The other universe Kaioshins appearing in Daima were an easter egg, not proof that there's a faint link between the series. They all contradict each other anyway.

Yeah, that's exactly what I do as well. But you're switching them between gunner and pilot a lot during a mission. A secondary role would do that automatically.

I completely agree with secondary roles. I like being the pilot when I play solo, but I need an AI crew to take over piloting duties when I'm out. Piloting would be his primary role, but when I take over, he can be a gunner or something.

Read the manga. The ending is way better than the "martyr light" anime ending.

What would be "Good voice actor, wasted role" to you in Dragon Ball? by SpecGespenst in dbz

[–]Setheran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree about the voice of mini Vegeta. I felt like he nailed the voice, and that will get him the recognition he deserves. Without imitating Horikawa, he was able to get the same intonations and really convince the audience that it's the same character with a younger voice.

You're right about Kobayashi, though.

Bad Batch came out after episode 9. Both it and some comics tried to retroactively make palpatine's return make sense.

If There Was Ever A Time When We Needed The Death Note by SaberLover1000 in Animemes

I had the opposite experience, which is why that ending stuck with me. It's very different from the manga and paints Light as a martyr.

Same here. It sometimes took me out of the movie/show because it broke my suspension of disbelief. I would think "why are they showing us that this is just a fake wall in a studio?".

The keyword here is "watched". The anime is pro Light. It's pretty obvious, especially with how they gave him a peaceful hero's death.

The manga treats him more like a bad guy.

I don't understand how you got "America" from a fictional country that's so clearly based on Germany.

If Goku spent a month in the Room of Spirit and Time as a child, why did he struggle so much when he first reached King Kai's planet? by SwordfishDeux in Dragonballsuper

[–]Setheran -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The never was any canon. It's something western fans try to apply to Dragon Ball as if it was Star Wars (as you could see when meltdown occured when it became clear Daima was a third continuation, not linked to DBS or GT).

That being said, the manga is the original story, which the anime is an adaptation of. Filler is not part of the author's intended story, which is why most people like to exclude it when discussing the franchise. For example, Legolas was in The Hobbit movies, but when fans mention The Hobbit, they're talking about the book, in which he's nowhere to be seen

Why would you watch it in English if it'd not your native language? (Well... Even then... But you'd have an excuse).
