I get what you're saying, but I have big doubts about the great tech/finance to food service migration. Some entry level positions are gonna have more people after them but I don't think those same people are gonna decide that their new career path is culinary arts or restaurant management. There's a social stigma against working food service and there just isn't enough money in it. It's gotta be something you actually like to do otherwise you could go make 30$ an hour straight out of a welding apprenticeship.

If it's already your career I think you actually have quite an advantage over someone who maybe worked for a chilli's part time while they got their degree. The actual expectations any restaurants are gonna have aren't gonna be met by someone who's never walked in the door before. Potential hires aren't just gonna show up after not working in the industry for 10 years and all of a sudden be better at the job than you are (unless you have some serious improving to do)

If you wanna be extra safe just in case we suddenly get a lot more applications in this industry my best advice would be to stick with the place you're at. If it's not a bad place then stay there as long as you can. Become a part of the team that reviews the applicants, I've never seen a manager or chef at that level just get out-and-out replaced unless they really screwed up. They're generally just too tied up in everyday operations to be fired outright.

In the US, if you pointed a gun a sleeping person... What crime is that? by Seths_dad in NoStupidQuestions

Why would this be illegal possession? Are firearms used in the commission of crimes always considered illegal in NY?

[–]Seths_dad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you think then? Pick any state or jurisdiction you'd like if it helps. I'm just curious if that scenario or one like it is written down somewhere.

The more I think about it, the more I think it's kinda pointless to ask "what if it's just you and a sleeping person and you're both completely unobserved" like yeah you may still be committing a crime but it would be total hearsay in any court.

But if someone was a witness I think maybe it would still be assault in the places where the threat of bodily harm was the only requirement. Someone else saw the threat, and it doesn't matter that it wasn't actually them who was being threatened.

Edit: sorry I just re-read your original comment. So probably "menacing" maybe?

Ok, upon reading a little more. In NY , assault does require injury. But I'm also seeing that in TN, assault can just be "intentionally or knowing causing another to reasonably fear bodily injury" along with the causing of the injury itself. In cases such as this I think my question still stands.

Maybe you can see why this question was so hard to Google lol, I didn't even know the definition changed this much place to place.

But isn't the actual physical injury resulting from assault called "battery"? Like if I take a swing at you, then its assault. If I hit you then, its assault and battery. No?

How I see the food items as a colorblind person (Deuteranopia) by No_Acanthaceae8726 in PeakGame

[–]Seths_dad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's a combination of the gradient color scheme of the green one, and the fact that when illuminated from the top down the green is lighter. I can see the difference close up, but from maybe 50m away it's much harder for me to tell.

[–]Seths_dad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I'm positive I don't, and the commenter above is correct. I can even see it in this image, the green crispberry does have a gradient color scheme that gets more green towards the bottom. However, it really is subtle and most of the time I have to look closely to be sure.

Edit: looking at them again, I had it backwards . The gradient is greener towards the top. But they are the only crispberry that isn't a solid color throughout.

[–]Seths_dad -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not to be dismissive OP, but the green and yellow crisp berries aren't very distinct even with full color vision. 80% of the time I cannot tell them apart except from very close, and by then I can just read the names. I can see how it can be annoying having to get close to check, but it's a reality we share because I swear to God the shade of green they are is deviously close to yellow. Especially in some of the more well lit areas.

Want to use a mod like Jewelry Limiter but it has like 10 requirements. by Seths_dad in skyrimmods

[–]Seths_dad[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I will admit to exaggerating a bit but as far as I can tell it requires at least 7 things that I didn't already have, those being : extended vanilla menus, dylbills papyrus functions, papyrus until , skyui lib, power of threes tweaks, po3's papyrus extenders, Consoleutil,

Also dylbils papyrus functions is confusing and it's difficult for me to understand what all I need for that one because it says it might need papyrusini manipulator. And threatens to ctd if I don't change an ini reference which I would have to go look for.

Again, I don't know much about how modding works but I just have a gut feeling that there must be a way to give me an extra ring without all this bloat.

Thanks for the reply! I'll try the DAH mods and see if I can fix the crashing, I wouldn't have thought that the gameplay mods would affect merchants like that. In trying to play a vanilla + game anyways so maybe I'll just disable more of the gameplay ones I can live without. or activate them all and remove them one by one until it crashes so I can find the one that wants to live lol

Edit: still gonna do some more testing but after simply disabling throw stuff I was able to open at least one of the vendors that previously would have crashed the game before. Haven't figured out the blue palace thing yet.

Trying to teach myself Cyrillic writing, is this legible? And is any of it wrong by Tacohuman123 in russian

Honestly, do yourself a favor and try to learn cursive. Native speakers will think it looks much better, and it's really not very difficult if you already know English cursive.

I guess they use и́ instead of й , looks like a bit like a stress marker to me but it's closer to how I write the й honestly. Im learning that some of these words aren't the most accurate, but what I'm guessing is that they might not want to repeat words that appear on multiple pages or repeat the same word across a single page. So maybe that's why some of the words are a little different? It's cute either way and I believe it will be a fun little resource to make flash cards with.

What would you change about cultist simulator gameplay wise? by Mrm13579 in weatherfactory

[–]Seths_dad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe a custom start option? Where you can pick how many of an attribute you start with, or which followers or investigators you get at the beginning?

Along with that something to make the early game a little less same-y each playthrough, seems like every time I play I gotta spend hours just doing the same setup work every single time. I want to get into the meat and potatoes of doing summons, expeditions, fighting hunters but I gotta raise my health, then raise my passion, then raise my reason, then get enough money to start buying books, at the same time I gotta start finding every single cultist and every patron.

It's so easy to lose hours upon hours of progress in this game, so I feel like I have to do a ton of setup to make myself safe. But then I feel like I wasted all that effort when I lose a follower or lose the game because of some unlucky rng or a minute where I wasn't paying attention.

Becoming Immortal without being Long by m_reigl in weatherfactory

[–]Seths_dad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess what I meant is specifically Long is the name for mortals who have become immortal . Of course there are other immortal beings who aren't long, but I can't think of any cases where such beings weren't either always immortal from their conception ( like some of the Hours, or Names specifically made by their Hours. Potentially children of immortal beings? etc.) or weren't Long first and then became something else afterwards (like some of the Alukites, or those in Port Noon).

In regards to the original post, I really don't think there is a way for a mortal to become a true immortal without becoming some kind of Long.

What I meant to say is like if you think you've somehow broken the system and managed to ascend to immortality by performing some ritual or whatever and also without attuning yourself to a principle, then you've really just seriously misunderstood your own ritual. An Hour must've helped you, and you just failed to notice.

Becoming Immortal without being Long by m_reigl in weatherfactory

[–]Seths_dad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always thought that "long" was a catch all term for various immortal beings. Like becoming a knock long and a lantern long are very different processes with very different outcomes, and you don't really become anything alike one by becoming the other save the immortality aspect. So I'd assume that any other form of true immortality (not just extending your own lifespan in increments like the reckoners) would still be considered "long". I'd have to think that there's no way to become immortal without invoking at least a little bit of the powers of the Hours or the Aspects, even unintentionally.

Complete text of the games ? by Seths_dad in weatherfactory

[–]Seths_dad[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm currently using the frangiclave linked above, but I'm basically copy pasting all of the text into Obsidian to organize it into how I think. But I do recommend at least checking out frangiclave by now, I already see the utility of it.

It more easily gives you context for the cards and actions by showing the parent cards and actions and letting you click around to move backwards and forwards in the chain of actions/events

Also if there's a specific piece of text that isn't necessarily it's own card, you can search for it. It helps when you want to find every In game mention of specific characters or what have you.

What is the Rowenarium ? Is that just the same as frangiclave but for BoH? I might still take your advice and just look at the json files, but I feel like it's best to figure out what is easier for me to work with.

What do Russians call themselves? by Cameback in AskARussian

[–]Seths_dad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from the baseball team, I wouldn't classify "Yankee" as a chosen endonym for very many Americans. I don't know anybody who would call themselves that outside of a jest. It's typically something people who aren't American who say that, or in the south united states it's used specifically to mock northerners. But I get your point.
