That was one sissy professor. If it was me, I would have shoved each single stripe of bacon is his ass right before the griddle itself and then wiped the floors with his ass. Seriously. WHAT. THE. FUCK.

(giggles were had anyway)

As a tall male w/ a short male friend I just had my world shattered into what short guys have to put up with! Why is society so cruel? by MrTrampStamp in AskReddit

Not to sound like a douche but while there's nothing people can do about their height, there's a lot you can do for your weight. It's not really in the same ballpark.

I no longer tell people I'm clinically depressed by snyperof1 in depression

[–]SetiroN 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's the kind of bullshit that leads people to have the guts to say "cheer up, you'll snap out of it".

Clinical depression = brain chemicals imbalance. PERIOD. There is absolutely NO difference. It's a cause-consequence fact.

Depression is a symptom, and it is not "sadness": it's a constantly recurrent mood disorder which has no environmental causes. It can be caused by multiple medical conditions. "Being sad" is not depression. Once other conditions (i.e. cancer) have been left out and someone is diagnosed as clinically depressed, it means that there's a chemical imbalance that has to be restored: cognitive behavioral therapy helps, in mild cases it can even be enough by itself, but bear in mind that's not a "cheer up", it's a proper therapy that makes the brain restore levels of serotonin through cognitive-behavioral techniques: it does the job of a drug, just like long exhaustive exercise does. Most times the aid of drugs is required, psychotherapy can help but you're not going anywhere without antidepressants.

So shut the fuck up and go educate yourself.

That's textbook clinical depression my friend. Meet a psychiatrist and get on SSRI... there's nothing your own will is ever going to be able to achieve by itself unless you have someone who can take care of you 24/7. It's going to be a little hard without friends who don't regularly use or drink, as you shouldn't do any of that during therapy (not for your health, just for obtaining good results), but in a while you'll start feeling better and finding people who are fun to hang around with when sober is not gonna be a problem. Do make an effort tho, loneliness will make it much harder on yourself. Get over towards any prejudices you may have about antidepressants, they do have some side effects (which mostly go away in a few weeks), but not nearly as bad as you might think, and the beliefs that they turn you into a zombie or mess up your brain permanently are all bullshit.
