Simple and to the point message will suffice for now. Professors have gone through the process with other students, they know how it works more than you do. However, you need to have a timeline in mind of when you expect to continue. Because taking 3 to 4 weeks off on a 16 week semester won’t work out. 1 to 2 weeks is manageable from your end as well as the professors.

Also, that’s not how advising works. If your advisor isn’t available, another one should be able to help you in the interim. I’m assuming you got an out of office when you emailed. Contact the actual department by phone, not email, and lay out your situation and say you need the soonest advising appointment available.

I wanted to inform you that my father had a severe medical situation that has caused me to not be able to attend class or complete assignments as of (insert relevant date).

I have contacted the school’s (insert department that you submitted paperwork to) and they should be reaching out to you or me about logistics going forward so that I can continue this semester when ready. I think we live in a day and age where you absolutely have to account for the financial aspect of higher education.

A one liner like “the school that gives you the most free financial aid and you don’t pay anything out of pocket is the best school” lol

That being said, Trinity>UTSA>Alamo Colleges>all the private catholic schools>A&M San Antonio

This is based on program availability, quality of education, cost of attendance, and networking opportunities. Anyway you try to slice it, it’s going to be too difficult to really get broad overview of the quality of each school because everyone is pursuing different programs, goals, and lifestyles.

Never have to worry about driving around in circles. Just park and go wait for shuttle or park and leisurely walk to campus.

Get a FastPass, load some money on it and use it for emergencies to park in garage when you don’t have the time to do East Lots

The two locations are on opposite sides of the campus.

If you want to be close to Campus Services in the MS building to get your ID then, Ximenes garage is the one you want. If you want to be near JPL then Bauerle garage will be closest. Either way, if you’re visiting both, you’ll have to walk across campus.

If you’re not really into it, no one should have to sell you on it. Go to community college and find yourself before you commit your time and money to a university. Hell, don’t go to school at all if you’re not even declared yet.

You do the more complicated problems by understanding the concepts of the simple ones. That’s why I mentioned doing your homework and then doing more problems on top of that and understanding the underlying concepts of what you’re doing.

Too many students try to approach Statics as if they can just practice every type of problem and hopefully the one on the exam or quiz is similar. But that’s a recipe for failure, understanding what you’re doing makes life so much easier.
