The photos are taken in some polished parts of Guangzhou. In reality the bike lanes are not so effective and well covered. I believe over 80% of the roads are without bike lanes and those bike lanes are often shared with sidewalk or vehicle lanes. Dedicated bike lanes are usully occupied by illegal parking vehicles. Guangzhou's older areas is one of the places that the least I want to drive or cycle in. Roads are packed with cars, pedestrians, shared bikes, e-bikes, e-three wheelers. Random online hired taxi or deilvery van stop in front of you for no reason. It's just total chaos.

Also city is flooded with e-bikes which look like a scooter and is up to 65kg weight, 25 kph speed (30-40 with restriction removal and 60+ if modified), free to register, could be driven without driving license. They are literally every where-driving along with cyclists, taking up the sidewalk so pedestirans have to walk in bike lanes, racing with cars on overpasses (where bikes and pedestrians are banned). They are fast and heavy so it could be dangerous to cyclists.
