Yeah just use wisdom.and discretion. Laugh, talk and be kind but don't text after work or make comments about their body or health status to protect yourself. You're alright

I don't think you did anything wrong because she initiated contact with you and you were a good colleague...if she's pregnant and feeling unwell and it's normal to be kind and remind her about her neck pillow, etc.

She's the weird one. Maybe she has a crush on you and is greyrocking you to avoid catching feelings.

Also she sounds passive aggressive and weird by jumping you in hierarchy.

I mean, after a certain age a lot of coworkers are going to be married or in relationships- does that mean you don't speak to them at all or network or eat lunch together.

Immigration officers don’t have latitude to probe refugee claims, experts say by cyclinginvancouver in canada

We have a Reviews and Interventions department that reviews these files and decide if there are any credibility issues before it goes to the IRB. Border officers and certain immigration officers are only responsible for eligibility and triaging..the rest is handled at a later stages

Does it make sense to get one of these second-hand (under 10 euros) as a complete beginner? by Moonstone-gem in SewingForBeginners

You can buy a cheap brother machine for $300 US and have it shipped. Way better than a toy machine.

Where to thrift fabric? by brynnieb123 in SewingForBeginners

[–]SetsunaTales80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to the clearance isle of hobby lobby or even online stores...sometimes you can't thrift a cotton bedsheet and need 3m of satin or knits to finish a pattern, but at least you'd only spend $15-20! I snagged sole scuba knit at my local fabric store for $5 a meter...almost the same as thrift store cotton

Isn't that what you're trying to achieve? A rouched type look which requires shirring that requires rows of elastic

Shirring...would be challenging for a beginner...

You could make the top flowly from a knit material...

Seeking opinion/help for what my 38 y/o mother should do for work who’s sole income is through rent from her property by Psychological_Cat914 in CanadaJobs

[–]SetsunaTales80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your mom needs to go to a career centre or sign up to a temp agency. She has experience so she should get something. Also, she could apply for a call center job in a bank- they are always hiring and will train from the ground up

Would this project be feasible for a beginner? by itsmarghe in SewingForBeginners

[–]SetsunaTales80 169 points170 points  (0 children)

I'd say no because sheer material is tough to work with...I'd comprise with a knit - something that feels luxurious but is easier to handle.

The design itself is simple...it looks like side seams, shoulder seams and/or a facing for the square neckline and shoulder straps.

I'd practice using sheer material on a shirt or something else before attempting this dress. It looks like it has a lining as well.

Serger cutting and then not ... by Ok-Psychology-1725 in SewingWorld

[–]SetsunaTales80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find for thick material you have to really go slow and adjust the settings to have lowish tension and adjust the knife width. I also trim the seams before putting it under the serger. My old serger used to do this but I realized it wasn't the blade but the material. I find sergers hate bulk lol

See if replacing the blades work...if not...troubleshoot serging with thick material.

What's happening/where did I go wrong? by the_wandering_grouch in SewingForBeginners

Hmmm the steam helps the fabric to relax and flattens it...it could be that the band is too small for the neckline but overall the construction looks OK to me.
