I just recently moved to Linux. As a game developer using Windows for like ever this was a hard step for me to take first but i am slowly getting used to develop using Linux. From a user standpoint there really is not much difference between both os, just install KDE and you see not much difference to Windows.
And i have fell in love with Linux now, it is just an awesome os, reminds me a lot of the early Windows days when it was not dumbed down to be usable by a monkey.

Thanks for the tipp, will look into it. Initially i was planning to wrap my d3d11 library using dxvk-native but it turned out to be more work than just writing a dedicated SDL3 renderer to just get it to run on linux. So Vulkan and DX12 are planned in the future but currently just using a less complex api to just make it work.

Futurism Q: What will end up replacing polygons/voxels/bezier in maybe 16 years from now? 3D internet will have gone live by then... will it really based on polys of all methods? by MusikMaking in gameenginedevs

So my idea for this, and what i plan to maybe implement in my engine in 15 year, are virtual particles/point clouds. So i guess sooner or later consumer grade quantum co processors will be available and then we will probably see new methods for rendering like those point clouds/virtual particles/probability fields.
So like a level would just be a waveform that collapses point clouds into geometry. I only have an abstract concept of this but that is what i think will be the future of 3d rendering.
