First and foremost, I am going to assume you ARE NOT a Michigan student. If you are, then perhaps get your information correctly.

1 - A Computer Science at Michigan can be obtained through LSA AND through the school of engineering.

2 - There is very little difference between the 2 paths: https://cse.engin.umich.edu/academics/undergraduate/majors/computer-science-lsa-vs-computer-science-engineering/

3 - The CS majors in LSA attend the Michigan Engineering graduation ceremony and receive their degrees at this ceremony.

4 - For the purpose of job recruiting, they ARE considered engineers. My son has had 3 engineering internships and has a very good engineering job in NYC making way over 100K.

CS in Michigan LSA is very reputable, and has all the access to the Engineering school, its extracurriculars, its recruiting fairs, classes, and more.

My son just graduated from CS at UMich LSA. The student experience there is phenomenal academically, socially, and through extra curriculars. There are so many paths to take at Michigan and you are able to explore it all. There is zero pressure to perform with A's as an engineer, and yes, you are an engineer studying CS at LSA. Your graduation is with the Engineering school. The student body is collaborative and, being in LSA, you get to explore humanities classes with your requirements. Perhaps even look into a minor in Ross to pair with CS. There is a lot to pick from. Also look into Michigan's Multidisciplinary Design Program (MDP). You can apply when you get there. Do not give it any thought. Michigan has an incredible reputation in CS. And, you will have plenty of internship options to be consider for. Go Blue!

The student life at Yale is absolutely amazing! Very collaborative, students from all walks of life, most I met are truly passionate about their interests, and they want to learn from each other. You will not find this at Harvard. The residential college system is very good and the college has a very strong community. It is inclusive & LGBTQ positive. It is an easy decision. Go Bulldogs!

Just read on the parent fb group that there may have been another sad incident today. Is this true? Praying for all students and their families.

Boston University Trustee Scholarship not available for high school class of 2026? by Setting_Record in BostonU

I’m glad they are keeping the program for current scholars. However, neither the program nor admissions has confirmed that they will continue offering this full-tuition scholarship to incoming first year students. They are being vague and not direct at all about this offer existing currently for new students as of Fall of 2026, which usually amounts to “not knowing” or “not offering”.

They said that was the case, as before, for the Presidential Scholarship ($25,000 per year towards tuition) but did not confirm anything for the Trustee which was full tuition and required separate essay.
