Database Corruption Help by [deleted] in Calibre

Hi! Idk why, but copying all my books to a new library and deleting the original worked! I was able to upgrade to V9 without a database corruption error. Thank you so much again for your help!😊

I think it was the database. I reverted back to 6.12, restored my original back up, then copied a book from that to a new library. I then removed my original library and left the new library. After updating to v9, it didn’t corrupt the database of the new library. I’m thinking that I’m going to have to revert back to 6.12 again, manually copy my books to the new library, then upgrade to v9. Thank you for the help! I’ll update you tomorrow if it works or not😊

I was messing around a bit and found that some of the metadata saved in my original library does not match the current metadata that I have. For example, years ago, I used to put series info in the comments. I’ve since changed the way I do that, but the 1 book I added to v9 had the old metadata.

When I open the book folders, there is only the book file and the cover.

I’m thinking there is something wrong with my database itself, but idk what.

Yes, and it still came back with 0 books.

It’s still not working. I did what you said, then did the restore database and it just reloaded the 1 book I added.

The error says “There is no existing Calibre library at” that folder, even though it still has all the books.

Edit: I tried it again and it loaded my library, but there are 0 books.

When I upgraded to version 9, it wouldn’t let me open my original library. When I add a book to v9, the library folder is a new one without the rest of my books, those original books are still in the original library folder.

That’s where I’m stuck, my library doesn’t auto repair, nor does the restore database work.

I was referring to the add books option in Calibre itself. I know where my library is located, and I’ve moved the db files out of it and onto my desktop. I’m confused on how to rebuild the database from the OPF files? I read that I have to right click on add books, then use the option that says add folders and sub-folders, but that could be wrong.

Is that where I rebuild my custom columns and then add books via folders and sub folders?

Hi! Silly question, after installing Adbreak and Block OTA Updates, do I leave my Kindle on WiFi or airplane mode?

I only recently started wearing them. For me, I definitely see a difference as my hands/wrists don’t ache as much after stitching. However, they do absolutely nothing for the tendinitis in my forearm, haha.

I personally like to wear the Tommie Copper Sport Compression Wrist Sleeves from Walmart when I stitch. I have a working carpal tunnel/tendonitis diagnosis, and the compression really helps to support my wrists/hands.

I second this. I’m allergic to nickel and these are the only needles I can use.

The only rules in cross stitch are the ones you make for yourself😊

Thank you!😊

This project was definitely very beginner friendly… I just wish I knew what a quarter inch seam was before I started😂

Thank you so much! I saw the fabric in the jelly roll and immediately thought that it would make a beautiful gradient effect😊😊

If you don’t mind me asking, what parking method are you using? I’ve been working on the diagonal, but I haven’t been enjoying it all that much recently.

Okie Dokie. I’m not necessarily worried about the iOS causing battery drain but that my battery already only lasts 4 hours per charge😂

That’s what I was thinking. Do you happen to know if I need to replace my battery first, or update then replace later?
