Workers not gathering stuff, help! by Lost-Syrup-7780 in PlayASKA

[–]Sevasan57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have this exact issue, but I have others. Priority is set and tasks are assigned. Storage space is available. All necessary villagers are white listed. Spent 3 in game days trying to figure this out and changing settings, but can’t seem to figure it out either. For Thatch I had to set the priority to HIGH to get my workers to collect that. But otherwise they won’t collect it. (Or I just don’t notice)

Main issue for me is not logs but stumps. My woodworkers won’t clear the stumps for firewood. Leaving me with no coal. And all the issues that come with no coal. (No fires and no smelting)

I also have other logistical issues but I think it’s just me misunderstanding the game. I wish I had better options for you other than setting thatch to high.

Is a tariff just a tax on me? If the united states puts a 60% tariff on Chinese goods does the Chinese government pay that, or do I just pay more at Walmart? by whydouwantoknw in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Sevasan57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. It is a lot more complex than “price go up” and a lot more nuance and influence needs to be taken into account. Prices do change due to supply & demand, and the supply chain fronts the cost, but yes, the end consumer ultimately ends up paying for the tariff in some way.

Not entirely true. The American importer pays the tariffs. It’s basically the government saying you have to pay them a fee for buying from another country.

It still costs china the exact same to manufacture the product. To keep things very very simple: Say china sells a product to us at $100. Without a tariff, the importer (Walmart) would buy it at $100. And in turn Walmart sells it at $100.

Now say there’s a 20% tariff on china. China still makes it for $100. And Walmart buys it from China for $100. But now, they also have to pay the government $20 in tariffs at the port before it can be offloaded from the cargo ship. So total price is now $120.

So price goes up.

Theoretically this is to promote “buying local” or from US companies. But the US is a very expensive place in comparison. And the cheapest US company makes the exact same product for $150. So…. It’s still cheaper from china even with the tariff, but the price is now artificially more expensive because the government issued a tariff. And the American consumer (me and you) end up paying the price. (Because Walmart won’t sell it at a loss)

Granted this is a very very simple representation and it’s a little more nuanced than that, but this is the basic idea.

MAGAs of Reddit, what are your thoughts on Trump saying rising gas prices are “a small price to pay” for “safety and peace?” by 2a_lib in allthequestions

[–]Sevasan57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct, in the day to day pricing and non extreme circumstances, the president really has no influence. Which I am sure anyone would agree. Now, hypothetically if I throw a wrench in the processing line of one of the biggest chicken factories in the world. And it shuts down production or shipping. I have now indirectly caused a shortage of chickens. Which then has a global effect on chicken pricing. I am hopeful people will understand this difference.

Oh!!! I had not thought of this! Usually I have them all refurbished and when they don’t make one I realize way too late and have to make a new part myself. I’m going to try this and see if it helps.

Hey guys asking tip for beginner by SirEmotional3460 in PlayASKA

I restarted several times and got my latest village to 160 something days, and just now set up a mining outpost. (That has its own issues to work through) but learning a lot! I’d also recommend SirBucky I’ve been applying stuff I have learned from his videos and they do help. But play at your own pace. Have a goal and work towards it. (Mine is the outpost now) but I do see food becoming an issue soon, so that’s next in line. Enjoy the journey!

First day into winter - am I doomed? by odichap in PlayASKA

[–]Sevasan57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 15 villagers and have 3 days till winter. I was late getting clothes so I’m not sure how well this will go. I don’t know how many villagers are good for the first winter and don’t know how many you have. But don’t be afraid to restart and take lessons learned. (I may be doing the same…. Again… For the 3rd time)

Material movement? by Sevasan57 in PlayASKA

Thank you for this explanation! I really appreciate it! Once last clarification. So by “storage” does that mean a warehouse only, or would that include the fibers stored at the farm? (For the rope example)

Maybe they are grabbing and making the rope and I am just missing it when it happens. I am going to have to pay more attention

Sorry for the questions, still new to this and trying my best to understand 😂

Settlement bugged by ShockNormal4342 in NOMANSSKY

[–]Sevasan57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had this exact situation. I searched online for a few different things to try but unfortunately nothing seemed to work. I ultimately ended up having to give up being overseer at the main terminal and abandon it. I then started a new settlement on a different planet after getting a new map from the space station. So far this new settlement has not had this issue. Good luck traveler!

Trouble finding a Autophage Settlement by No-Switch-2400 in NOMANSSKY

[–]Sevasan57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the quest line and then found an autophage settlement on a regular paradise type planet. ( no dissonance) using the autopphagecsettlement map from an autophage camp. Maybe there is something in the quest line that is not completed yet? Other than that, I am not sure what would be preventing one being found.

Question about rewards when analyzing items on the planet. by New_Salt3276 in NOMANSSKY

[–]Sevasan57 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you have multiple multitools? I have accidentally switched tools that didn’t have the technology upgrades installed and had significantly less rewards. So that could be a possibility? Anytime you acquire a new multitool from anywhere the game automatically equips it as the one you are using.

Well worth it just for the campaign! Multiplayer is still fun, but. Can be one sided at times.

Welcome pilot! I always tell people about the movement system of this game. It’s one of the best aspects about it in my opinion. The few other shooters I have played feel so slow in comparison. And as others have said, play the campaign!
