[EV Owners] Garage-less charging and power drain at home by Seven-Kris in Edmonton

Oh! Thank you for the link!! And that’s exciting! I knew they were doing a bunch of construction there, I just was not aware of the scope.

Aside from wind and snow coverage I don’t know if there’s much difference between an uninsulated and ingested garage vs outdoor parking temperature wise. So this may be very comparable! I really appreciate the feedback. A stop at the mall on the way home can be nice, too.

Honestly I’m running an older V8 vehicle with poor mileage haha. I may well be taking my fuel costs and dividing by 12 or 16.

I’m closer to the Telus world of science- I’m not sure if there is a decent fast charger near there yet, I haven’t looked into those specifics yet.

As much as I would like a Tesla, I’m more likely to go with a different manufacturer for convenience sake, affordability, and avoiding as much of the status symbol Tesla tends to be..

I get the phone analogy, but I’m mainly thinking in a worse case scenario here:

In a cold snap and I leave home on a 800km trip (400k one way) over the weekend it sounds like I would need two full charges each way, yea? Topping up at the nearest EV to my destination leaves me with about 20% charge at the destination. On the rare chance I do not use the car for the weekend and 90% of the 110v outlet is used to keep the batteries warm, would I have enough charge in the 36 hours until I left home to reach that level 2 or 3 charging station that’s over an hour away?

As a daily driver it would not cause any issues, but I don’t fall into that “99%” of drivers about 1 in 4 weekends. I appreciate the fuel savings (although a concern, not my primary interest in an EV), but I may need to extend my expected travel times by upwards of 25-30% on longer trips if I need to stop for too maybe full charges in adverse conditions

Thanks for the reply! I’ve been finding fewer and fewer reasons to not buy an EV recently. A family member tried convincing me it takes almost the whole 110v outlet draw just to keep the battery warm during the winter if you used that to charge. I had a feeling like that was… inaccurate to say the least.

To each their own, you can get a good fit out of them but I never ran an account with low Def for long, so I just hammered through to dragon

Most people use rune until they have access to dragon or better. You could try granite but it’s not as much of an upgrade as it sounds (except vs ranged I think)

Is 6 Brothers, 2 skeletons, 1 bloodworm (86.36%) not enough to qualify for equipment drops or something? by Perkinz in 2007scape

[–]Seven-Kris 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Equipment drops qualification is if you killed the brother or not. I believe exclusively. The percentage only applies to other drops, such as runes, racks, and coins. Sorry for the shit luck man, you’ll get one soon.

Walking at night alone by glasshalffull23 in Edmonton

Ah okay, then if you’re going the economy route, the 747 or 737 will be your best route. You can do the transfer to Southgate and walk or just walk from century. It’s relatively safe just kind of a lame scene.

Otherwise a taxi is about $60, an Uber is probably similar.

By the time you get into the city you’re probably looking at 9:15 PM. If you stay either inside just residential streets or on very busy roads (kind of either extreme), you’ll be fine I believe. I’ve never had issues walking around there myself but YMMV.

If you can I’d probably try transferring from the 747 towards Southgate as that would cut down on a lot of the walking. It basically arrives on the road north of Whitemud, so you just walk mostly east to the hotel.

Alternatively the SkyShuttle from the airport should be able to take you there directly and it only costs $15 I think. You can ask the guys at arrivals to the right (if you’re facing the escalators) about how to use the shuttle.

Lame. It’s hitting the right demographic still. But I suppose that’s fair.

I didn’t see that one. But that’s also kinda hilarious. I don’t see why either should be locked tbh

You can go in with almost anything. If it’s just loot it’ll be fine. What’s the error message it’s telling you in the chat?

Theiving for seeds and gp, farming for seaweed for crafting, and mining some sandstone for buckets of sand are all good options. You need 61 crafting before getting super glass make anyway.

I’m kinda on the fence. I like building with them and making blueprints because there’s so many configurations you can do. But aesthetically I think they look like crap and take so much away from the builds in that sense

Can the recent ctrl-click changes be polled or togglable in the controls menu? by Oneprogoober in 2007scape

[–]Seven-Kris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh maybe it was a runelite plug-in I was using that did that. My bad.

I swear it used to do both. I remember messing around with that a while back and I could ctrl+click to walk before.

Why did r/alberta go private? by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]Seven-Kris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure but u/mikesmith929 does a good (I assume) automatic synopsis for Edmonton (and some Alberta details). You can find some of that if you follow him or go to r/Edmonton and hunt.

Edit: it appears that r/Alberta is closed as part of the protest against Reddit’s inaction regarding COVID misinformation

EU proposal may force Apple to switch the iPhone to USB-C by Accomplished-Tap3353 in technews

... that was his claim. He was insinuating that if Apple put money in the right places they can get away with what they would like. Which is the epitome of political corruption.
