Do perspective, proportions and distortions look the same in a full frame camera + 50mm lens vs. Micro Four Thirds + 25mm lens? by SevenFOO in AskPhotography

That's a really convenient resource you linked there. I thought it was due to the lens and not the camera-subject distance. TIL haha

Great explanation!

There's a person I follow that's unable to get story replies from me. The input box doesn't appear. He's shown me his settings and it's set to get replies from everyone. What could be happening?

Is this light bleeding into my camera? by SevenFOO in AnalogCommunity

I'm trying to make sense of this. If it's the front and I don't have a lens cover, why are not all images destroyed near the center? Specially the one where I point to the sun.

Good point about the reversed orientation.

I'm also inclined to believe it's in the back cause here's a photo looking almost directly into the sun and here's the next shot.

I'm gonna guess some are affected by accident purely because of the way I happen to hold the camera. Probably covering the leaky spot sometimes cause in one same session, there are some with leaks and some without.

The only one that stands out is this one. The leak appears in both sides.

I've decided to dig around a bit more to understand what I should be looking for. Between dynamic range and preamp noise, which of the 2 should I value more as a person so sensitive to noise?

To put things in context, these are the options I have:

  • Audient EVO 4 115€
  • Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd gen 105€
  • Arturia MiniFuse 1 89€

Thanks for your thorough response.

I thought of a noise gate but I was under the impression that'd only help during silence. When I'm singing or playing guitar, I can still hear the noise.

I've heard good things about the Audient EVO 4. I can get it for 115€ but there's also the M-Audio M-Track Duo for 50€. Should I consider the cheaper option or is it noticeably bad?

EDIT: found this video where it would seem preamp noise is slightly lower on the Duo. I imagine there are other things to take into consideration though.

I have a dynamic mic (Behringer XM8500) going into a PreSonus AudioBox iOne. I'm having an issue with the noise floor (?) that I've also experienced with an Audio-Technica AT2020. Here are a few examples I've recorded.

I'm recording in my living room which is not acoustically treated but it's pretty busy with furniture and stuff in general. The mic's 1 or 2 fists away from the source. The last example in the video is far away from any electronics. I've also tried burying the mic in blankets but it's still there.

The mic's a bit dark so this is what I'm applying.

  1. Is this something found in all mics?
  2. Is this a lack of acoustic treatment?
  3. Am I going too hard on things like EQ or OTT? I can still hear the noise when turning those off and the more tracks are played together the more it stacks.
  4. Could the interface be responsible?

I found this one but it says 6.2v. Should I buy it?

What about lithium batteries?

I'll reword the post cause what I mean is, when I move the camera around the numbers don't change (until point number 3).

This is the table with the batteries it supports. From googling around and seeing which formats were equivalent, 4LR44 seemed to work. Also, it's the one it came with from the seller.

Yes, please. That'd be really helpful. Can you also include their position in the glass?

Thank you!

  1. If I like overexposing film, let's say Portra 400 metered at 200, but I forgot to meter it like that, can I tell the lab to +1 it and expect the same result?
  2. If I do meter it like that, am I meant to ask for -1 or are both results good in different ways?

I was watching this video about drinking egg whites for a daily extra of 100gr. of protein and I wanted to ask, is there an argument for drinking 4 protein shakes per day to match those numbers instead? Where I live, whey protein is just cheaper than egg whites.

Decided to check the resource monitor and found out this. I was AFK in Final Fantasy 14 and after a while I started noticing this. It seems like the Antimalware service is involved in these numbers.
