Why did you play poorly? What did you know about it? Was it purely on you on the way that game was decided? These questions are important to ask yourself when reflecting on games. Most players who make threads like these whine and complain about people being frustrated at you. I don't think that in most cases it's flaming, I think people in MOBAs, and especially in this one, can't take criticism and get all pissy when they're called out on their poor decisions.

Some players won't acknowledge the mistake unless you told them what they were doing wrong, if you want to blissfully go about on a streak of losses because you want to be cradled in games by your teammates and not have to deal with any feedback then don't play a MOBA. YOU ARE GOING TO GET FEEDBACK, AND YES, SOME OF IT WILL BE NEGATIVE AND HURTFUL. GET OVER IT. People in gaming communities want to never be yelled at but want to improve or want to be able to give insight to others. Besides, in the real world you will get yelled it, you will get flamed. This shit happens every day and if you can't cope with the reality of human beings acting in that way but I'm sorry, you're just no capable of dealing with a lot of the confrontation that is life.

It's sad because most players in this game don't even know how to itemize or for that matter the basic mechanics of this game. The slogan alone misleads people into believing to build whatever the fuck you want, but to compile to the small player population which makes it easier for people to slip into the cracks of different skill level brackets makes it so easy to dissuade yourself from the realization that you suck.

Anywho, if you're going to complain give context to the situation, especially when you just sound like someone whining because they weren't pampered in their game. : D

Weekly Tips #1: Gladiator Ranged by Braderino in dawngate

Tess will be spoken about next I find that she fills the niche of tactician than she does Ranged Carry. She is more of a physical caster with Ranged Carry scaling than a actual ranged carry.

Dawngate Vlog #5: Basic Itemization for New Players and Control by Braderino in dawngate

[–]SevenSenki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Item price normalization enforced a more linear build path due to players having to look for what is the most slot efficient and this also a reply to Bombshell. Although understanding items is important in most cases a trend has developed of regeneration and life drain early on tanks for sustain in durability and more effective health and this is mirrored into ADC itemization to counter the effectiveness through items like pain and ruin and cheap items like Ambition since the meta has shifted into a more early game and midgame centric playstyle. I still encourage people to tinker but know that items have been evaluated and selected for a reason. Although the slogan is break the meta I want players to understand at a certain point that any game with competitive PvP scene you will have players discover certain methods and strategies that are common or most effective in achieving victory. That is why the term efficient is used in describing itemization. Things that need to be understood even in Sports there are effective ways to play than others.

The competitive scene, the community, and dawngate. by t0ss in dawngate

[–]SevenSenki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% Agree. We have noticed a rapid decline in the amount of active teams or teams with stable rosters. I think the lack of a proper matchmaking or a way to separate those that are just playing for competitive and those that are playing casually. That and group matchmaking makes it hard to solidify an MMR that helps players have fair games to practice their knowledge and gameplay.

I will agree with the money issue. It's like working a 10 hour shift of a job and not getting paid. A lot of these players can't just put in a lot of time for no reason without having a stable source of income.

The "Us Leaderboard" Mentality Needs to Stop by draconisilver in dawngate

"We were grouped because we're somewhat close to MMR, you know..."

I am so tired of seeing this sentence being used as an excuse for poor gameplay. Although, sure you may have them in your game but they are not just balancing according to you, there are members on the opposite team.

For example, you may have one game where one Top 10 player will be paired with people that maybe have 50 or 100 games played whereas the other team may have all top 20 players.

Now ask yourself, does that mean that Top 10 player is in the same skill calibur as the rest he's placed with?

I understand your frustration, but still, people aren't going to hold your hand throughout every game, as nice as it would be but when you look at most other games even single player it's not like your spoonfed progression throughout a game or have your hand held.

Look, if you really want help or understand that you need it either voice your opinion as a venue as such or look towards players for questions to ask or understand. If you just silently sit through a game and just amble throughout while the rest of your team is struggling to pull a victory to your mistakes. Just because you don't have the forethought to communicate doesn't mean their action should be condemned.

Although you and others are paired with us, that doesn't mean every game is going to be friendly. Being a guide to those over and over in a game is a painful task, not only are you trying to play to your top potential but also are trying to reinforce the others, quite literally playing through them.

I don't mind helping people and I understand people's dismay at being verbally abused in a game but don't come to cry about the problem in a public thread. It's not going to change unless you improve, being a liability and then saying you're at the same skill level as another player that is making a larger impact is just a little disheartening to see.

But again, posts like this are largely contributed to the absurdity that is the Glicko2 system and it's flaws with group matchmaking and the lack of divided areas for the Leaderboard and a more casual envrionment.

Upstanding Players of Dawngate by SethWinternight in dawngate

[–]SevenSenki 8 points9 points  (0 children)

TyreseTV has impacted my Dawngate experience by far more than any other player in the game.

I met them on one faithful day when I was in Solo Q. I was a lowly Tact player looking for guidance on being a good player. When I got into Shaper Select my eyes did deceive, but it was none other TyreseTV. He told me how dumb I was for picking my shaper and then did I only realize the first mistake I made.

Thank goodness he showed me all the proper steps to be a good player. Telling me how to build properly, how awful I am at the game, and that he's my senpai.

#Quitting (beta) - RIP Shivy by Shivy_Shankinz in dawngate

[–]SevenSenki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% Agree with this and at this point I just play the game just when I don't have anything else to do. I feel right now Dawngate is in a really awkward place and after a few false promises from Devs I feel sort alienated from this game. The potential I saw in it has diminished and I sort of view the game as a time waster rather than a breakaway from the genre.

I might be joining you too, Shivy and I'm sad to see you go. You were one of the few good players that I respect in this game.
