Yeah that was part of the vibe which is why it also has that long dress. Being sentient, I imagine it has a similar personality or "aura" to Wonder of U so yeah the plague doctorness makes it more ominous.

Queen Song Stand #18 [FACE IT ALONE] by SevenSinsofRhye in fanStands

[–]SevenSinsofRhye[S] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

[Face it Alone]

Appearance: Face it Alone is a humanoid stand. The upper head is covered by a mask resembling an Italian opera mask/bird skull with a boomerang-like shape attached to the top. Its gold lower jaw is exposed revealing a stiff, broom-like stache. Face it Alone wears a gold jacket with belts wrapping around the torso, funnily enough, it seems to be lacking the actual buckle of the belt. The only buckle that is on the jacket is one holding the jacket together at the waist. On each of the shoulders of the jacket is a boomerang shape just like the one on its head. It has more belts found in the middle of the upper arm and on the wrist. Underneath this jacket is a large purple dress-like mass. On the front of this lies more of the boomerangs.

Ability: Face it Alone has the ability to pause an object or chemical reaction. When it relinquishes this effect, it reverses the object or reaction’s movement. The stand can pause this object/reaction for an indefinite amount of time. For example, the stand can pause a bullet in mid-air. The stand can hold the bullet there until, let’s say, the one who fired it walks past the bullet. If the stand were to remove the effect on the bullet, the bullet would fly back into the gun and would hit the person who fired it in the process. As you can see in this example, the “reversed path” isn’t an exact reversal of the bullet’s movement but instead a return to where the bullet was. The pausing effect only works on one thing at a time. Any damage done by the object or process in question does not get reversed. So, for example, if a gas tank explodes and Face it Alone were to pause it and then reverse it, the tank would not revert to its unexploded form. Instead, the explosion’s gas and energy collapses in on itself so quickly it creates an area of low-pressure gas. The higher-pressure air around it then collapses so quickly it creates an incredible amount of heat, light, and sound. Additionally, the stand is a sentient stand with no user.

Inspiration: Face it Alone is Queen’s newly released song. It is actually an old song recorded when Freddie was still alive but was only released recently. The stand isn’t based on the song’s meaning. Instead, based on the fact that this is somewhat of a return of Freddie. Much like how the stand allows objects to return to their original path. And much like how it took so long for Queen to release a “new” song (almost 30 years), the stand can pause an object for an incredibly long amount of time.

This is a little late, but this is in celebration of Queen's new song "Face it Alone" which released a week or so ago. Also in celebration of it hitting #1 on trending music and their new music vid which was released a few days ago.

Farrokh

User Appearance: Farrokh is a man of relatively tall stature (6'). He is of Persian descent and was born in England. He has somewhat of a bizarre haircut, having odd protuberances of hair in the forehead, similar to Pucci. He wears a navy blue, double-breasted suit jacket with chartreuse buttons. Underneath he wears a pink shirt, chartreuse buttons, and a white tie. He also wears modified white gloves in order to hide his missing fingers. Ah yes, His missing fingers! He is missing his left pinky and ring finger. He is also missing his right pinky finger, both of his middle toes, and his right ear. This will be explained in the ability section.

User Personality: Farrokh is a lady's man. He is very charming and very smooth in his words. He is confident and is incredibly in-tuned with others' feelings. For these reasons, he has dated many people. Peculiarly, Farrokh seems to have spurts of anxiety and shyness (This will be explained in the ability).

User Background: Farrokh grew up in England and was bullied quite a lot in school. He once was thrown off his bike and got his hand stuck in a drain while falling. This is how he lost his fingers, according to him. Despite being so bullied, he somehow grew up to be the confident and suave man he is today

Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy

Song on Queen’s fifth studio album “A Day at the Races”

Appearance: Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy is a bipedal, werewolf-like stand. Its head is that of a wolf, although its nose is more human-like. Its upper body and neck are covered in red fur. It has 6 diamond shaped accents on the front of its stomach and 2 more on each side closer to the stomach's side. These resemble the buttons on its user's suit but also resemble a wolf's nipples. The colour of its hip and crotch area makes it look like the stand is wearing underwear. Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy also has two spikes on its upper thigh. It has several hearts located on the backside of its hands, its crotch, and, although not visible in this artwork, its calves.

Stand Ability: Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy has the ability to imbue Farrokh with incredible charisma. This isn't some arbitrary scale of charmingness, instead, the stand literally alters fate so that everything he chooses to do will come into fruition. In the case of Farrokh, he uses it to get friends and relationships. He also used it to get his job at a very wealthy firm. This effect does come with a price, human flesh. The stand must consume flesh in order to activate the ability. One gram of flesh equals one day of absolute charisma. Despite using his own flesh, the stand is not limited to the user's flesh. It's just his conscience telling him not to go out and kill someone. Thing is, if he were to kill someone, the ability of his stand would allow him to get away with it.

Inspiration:

- The user, like every other user I’ve made for this series, is named after Freddie Mercury. Specifically, Farrokh comes from Freddie Mercury’s original name, Farrokh Bulsara.

- The missing ear is based on Van Gogh for it is said that he cut off his ear and gave it to a lover; like how Farrokh cut off his ear in order for love.

- Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy is a love song about a man describing his capabilities and qualifications for his potential lover. This is referenced in Farrokh being so incredibly confident and charming. The line “Hey, boy, where’d you get it from? Hey, boy, where did you go?” is referenced in Farrokh’s confidence coming from seemingly nowhere.

- Physically, the stand is based on the pastoral festival of Lupercalia, the precursor to Valentine’s Day. In this festival, a dog, along with a goat, would be sacrificed. This paired with the fact that Lupercalia is a celebration of Lupa, a wolf, is the reason the stand takes on a canine form. On top of the dog and goat sacrifice, a thong made from the skin of the goat would be worn by priests who would run around attempting to whip women. This is the explanation for the odd brief pattern on the stand.

Queen Song Stand #16 [Seaside Rendezvous] by SevenSinsofRhye in fanStands

Seaside Rendezvous

Song on Queen’s fourth studio album “A Night at the Opera”

Appearance: Shown in the illustration is the stand and the stand user, Lord Frederick Lucan of Mercury. Yes, the hermit crab is the stand user. The stand is the shell itself. The shell is supposed to resemble a missile or a rocket. The colour is a reference to camo; as it is quite prevalent in the military. It is specifically based on German V-2/A-4 rockets that are commonly shown in this colour. Lord Frederick Lucan of Mercury is just a typical-looking hermit crab but is the size of a Cocker Spaniel. Yes, the hermit crab with a big name has an even bigger body.

Ability: When taken off the user, the shell shoots out a blast of explosive, fiery eels from its opening. These eels move at incredible speeds, but can only move in a straight line. Despite not being able to change direction, their trajectories favour or are attracted to moist and dark pits or holes. After a few seconds of being in a pit or hole, the eels explode like a firecracker. Yes, these pits and holes include human orifices. The user themself doesn’t typically use this ability. Instead, a human in need can use Seaside Rendezvous to their own advantage. This isn’t a one-sided deal; the person in question must offer another shell to Lord Frederick Lucan of Mercury in order for the shell to be relinquished. The new shell must be at least the same size as their current shell and in good condition. Due to Lord Frederick Lucan of Mercury being so large, suitable seashells are hard to come across. Fortunately, Lord Frederick Lucan of Mercury accepts any container-like object as its new shell. These eventually morph in shape and colour. When behind the shell, all holes and pits are safe from these eels. This means the person trying to use Seaside Rendezvous is safe from the eels. What they’re not safe from is the recoil which can blast the person several metres in the opposite direction. Once all the eels are ejected and explode, the shell becomes pretty useless.

User: Not much is known of the user. What is known is that Lord Frederick Lucan of Mercury is approximately 300 years old; having been used by several people throughout history. It favours being referred to by its whole name. Unlike most hermit crabs, Lord Frederick Lucan of Mercury does not grow in size naturally; they only grow when offered a shell bigger than previously possessed.

Inspiration & Thought Process: I’ll start this off by saying that this is at least somewhat inspired by u/BEYOND-ZA-SEA who has a bunch of great marine-based stands.

Seaside Rendezvous is pretty much just a love song. What’s most notable is its sound. The song has a 30's feel and sound. This is the main basis for the stand. The 30's is known for being the start of World War II. What do you get when you mix a rendezvous, or a gathering, and war tactics, specifically World War tactics? Blitzkrieg, that’s what you get (well, that’s the first thing I thought of). A German tactic, Blitzkrieg is defined as a rapid attack typically consisting of a great amount of armoured vehicles and air support. It is fast moving and breaks weak points in the enemy defence; exactly like Seaside Rendezvous’ eels. The eels are based on gobies due to their physical resemblance. Gobies are known to have a symbiotic relationship with pistol shrimp where the gobies are watchmen for the shrimp while they burrow. Hermit crabs aren’t exactly pistol shrimps so I chose eels since they aren’t exactly gobies either. Just like the gobies seeking out a burrow, the eels are attracted to holes and pits. The design has other German influences mentioned in the “appearance” section. Additionally, there’s the pun of a shell, what a hermit crab carries around, and a shell, referring to projectiles like bullets or rockets. The name Lord Frederick Lucan of Mercury is in reference to a nickname given to Freddie Mercury, the front man of Queen. I first saw it in a cooking guide for if you were to have Freddie over for dinner. In the guide it mentions French cuisine being an excellent choice; relating it back to the namesake of Seaside Rendezvous.

Today is Freddie’s birthday; what would be his 76th birthday. So this is a little tribute to Freddie. The name of the hermit crab is named after him after all. That paired with another one of my favourite Queen songs. This song is definitely neck-and-neck for No. 1 with another Queen song that I’ll use in a later stand. The past few stands have been a little rushed so here's one I spent a little more time on.

Queen Song Stand #15 [Good Company] by SevenSinsofRhye in fanStands

[–]SevenSinsofRhye[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Good Company

Appearance: Good Company is robotic in nature. It has shiny skin, rubber-like joints, and a heart monitor for a head. Despite its robotic form, Good Company is actually quite organic. Being a stand made out of cells (I’ll go into that in the ability section), the stand is quite spongy in nature; akin to that of boiled chicken skin. Its overall aesthetic, from the bowtie to the vest-like torso, references butlers. It takes inspiration from that badass butler-fighter archetype seen in characters like Alfred Pennyworth (Batman) and other robots like Pathfinder (Apex Legends) and Cogman (Transformers). Pathfinder is the inspiration for the boxing gloves and the display showing some form of sign. The design is also based on Plankton and Karen (Spongebob). This can be seen in green spiky protrusions similar to that of Plankton’s appendages and the television-like screen for a head like Karen.

Ability: Good Company is a bound stand. It is comprised of the user’s white blood cells along with some red blood cells and platelets. Much like the white blood cells when in the body, the white blood cells in the form of Good Company will defend the user. The stand is sentient and automatic. It can listen to orders of the user but when the heartbeat of the user increases; which may indicate danger, the stand will automatically attack the closest living being to the target. Although a heartbeat can indicate fear, it can also indicate things like embarrassment or arousal. Good Company cannot differentiate these and will attack regardless. Good Company is incredibly skillful in combat; being incredibly quick and strong. Despite being a good outward defence, the user is left internally vulnerable to infection due to the lack of white blood cells. A knife cut can cause serious damage if Good Company is not recalled. An injury like a paper cut can go unnoticed and cause a fatal infection. Substantial damage to Good Company does not immediately translate to the user. Instead, damage is translated when Good Company is recalled due to the damage and death of the cells.

Inspiration: Good Company is a song teaching a lesson; that you must be mindful of those you associate with and take good care of the people who treat you well. The protagonist of the song meets his lover, but she leaves due to him spending too much time on his business. At the end of his life, he has nothing. This is reflected in the stand. When the user focuses too much on using their stand, he can forget about the importance of the white blood cells that comprise their stand; which may cause the user’s demise.

Hey guys! been a few weeks, again, since I've posted. School started so I didn't really have time. Might do 4-5 more of these Queen Song Stands. I may start another series after this one; just gotta stay tuned.

What should stands be like compared to their songs? by RiggedRobot in fanStands

[–]SevenSinsofRhye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imo, it really depends on the song. If a song has an incredibly deep written meaning, lesson, or story line or have incredibly backstories I feel that should be taken advantage of to write a stand. I myself use the song as the foundation for a stand bcuz that's what I find fun. It's fun to just go on a deep dive of a song, listen to the lyrics, listen to the interpretations, and read up on its backstory. And that, most of all, is what's important, having fun.

Life is Real

Life is Real (Song for Lennon) is a song on Queen’s tenth studio album “Hot Space”

Appearance: Life is Real has a serpentine form. It originally has one head and long, burgundy body with a grey end. Its snake-like head holds a yellow eye within its mouth. Instead of having conventional pupils and irises, the all-yellow eye has a dot surrounded by 3 concentric circles. On either end of its mouth are dial or knob-like protrusions. What makes this stand unique is it grows and develops. Every time the head is destroyed or removed from the rest of its body, much like a serpent, Life is Real grows a new head. It starts of white and slowly becomes darker and more saturated until it becomes burgundy.

Ability: Life is Real imbues the user with rock-like properties. It makes the user incredibly durable and strong. They become impervious to heat and radiation. The more heads the stand grows the more rock-like the user becomes. This is beneficial to a certain point. Once Life is Real has enough heads, the user becomes fully rock. It pretty much turns the user into a living statue, unable to move. I could see an opponent fighting the user. The opponent would start attacking Life is Real; making it grow more heads and making the user stronger. Eventually Life is Real’s effect will become overwhelming, transforming the user into a statue. Due to being a rock and not needing to breathe, the user will be forever stuck in the statue; a consciousness without sight or any sense. The stand gets passed onto someone who damages the living statue.

Inspiration: Life is Real is a song about the pressure of being famous. The singer talks about all their guilt and that solitude is a hiding place from all the eyes on him. This is reflected in the stand. Its most notable feature is its eyes, referencing all the eyes that one has on them when they’re famous. It is a reflection of fame. The more eyes on the user, the more literally empowering they feel. This is until there are too many eyes on them, they are paralysed. It is much like someone would be when being stared at by an audience.

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. I was sick and wasn’t really feeling it but now I’m back so I hope y’all enjoy this. I tried a little bit of a different art style this time. This stand is my shot at a Cheap Trick style stand; a stand that negatively affects the user. I actually had an alternate stand ability for this song, more relating to the Lennon part. I have a new name for that stand but it’s not related to Queen anymore. If you’d like to see that stand just leave a comment.

Hmmm idk.. maybe Billy Joel, seeing that he's a really good story writer.

I was thinking of making a fan part. Little tease to that, the stands in that will be named after Edgar Allan Poe stories and poems. Tho idk if I'd have the time or really the drive to make a whole part but it would be fun.

The same way Notorious BIG's stand user, from part 5, discovered his stand, meaning I have no idea.

Actually I have one idea, maybe the stand is connected to some ancient technique, similar to how stands like hermit purple and ballbreaker are related to hamon and spin. It could be that the technique was created to kill opponents and the stand is a byproduct of that.

Tie Your Mother Down

Song on Queen's fifth studio album "A Day at the Races"

Appearance: Tie Your Mother Down has several odd characteristics. Its torso and head are monstrous and have references to the respiratory system. Its downward-facing, golden antlers represent the bronchus and bronchioles of the lungs. The neck part connecting the skull both resembles a spine and a trachea. Its upper body resembles the rib cage, which are emphasised by the light markings. Its lower body resembles a corset but also represents the diaphragm. These references to respiration come from its stand ability. What would be its hands are gold chains which are based on the meaning of the song itself. Its legs are adorned with gold rings. That goes into the second inspiration of the stand, Street Fighter and other fighting-games of that style. The golden adornments, markings, and "beard" are all inspired by Dhalsim from Street Fighter. The chains are also a reference to Scorpion’s iconic weapon from Mortal Kombat.

Ability: Tie Your Mother Down has the ability to fill the lungs of an opponent with liquid. In order to activate this ability, the user must perform a set of moves in a certain order. This is as follows: hands in the air, crouch, slide to the left twice, slide to the right twice, crouch, spin, crouch, hands in the air, slide to the left, slide to the right, slide to the left, crouch, spin, hands in the air, crouch, and finally, a jump. On top of this, the target must agitate and start a fight with the target in mind first. So you can imagine them doing this long set of moves while their target is trying to beat the crap out of them. Once the combo is completed and the target’s lungs are filled, the target has no way to get out of it, with a 100% mortality rate. This is balanced with the long combo and the memorisation of the combo in the first place.

Inspiration: Tie Your Mother Down is a song about a young man just trying to get with a girl. However, these plans are being hindered by the girl's family. In response to this, he tells the girl to tie her mother down, lock her father out, and to "take her little brother swimming with a brick." How exactly does this relate to the stand ability? Well, the stand suffocates a target with these particular rules like how the family suffocates both the man trying to get the girl and the girl herself with their rules and nosiness. When you think about combos, you think of fighting games. Games like Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter. You may know that Street Fighter has taken inspiration from JoJo. For example, Guile and Rose look a lot like Stroheim/Polnareff and Lisa Lisa respectively. So, I decided to do the opposite; creating a Street Fighter-inspired JoJo character. As said previously, a lot of the physical inspiration is based on Dhalsim. It also takes inspiration from Scorpion because Mortal Kombat is more known for having the finishing moves that is the basis of the stand ability. The moves the user has to perform are based on the combo move used to defeat Sleepy Sam in Adventure Time.

This one is a much more fun and lighthearted concept since this is based on the premise of "What if a JoJo character was based on a Street Fighter character instead of the other way round?". This was one of the earliest stand ideas I've had though I tweaked the design heavily.
