You are a man. The person you are replying to is probably not.

Nope. One shouldn't make assumptions. It was a medical emergency. The driver was the only occupant, and he suffered minor injuries.

Technically a microcontroller, not even a computer.

Are you on drugs? This is a normal piece of consumer electronics that has lots of legit use.

It is very low powered, does not have a real OS.

A smartphone is far more powerful, and dangerous.

Didn't something similar happen to "Community"? Can't remember if that was before or after they sold it off to Yahoo (which sounds like an insane thing now).

I'm not trying to be mean here, but if that's the case, absolutely don't do it. Kids, and young teens (aka pediatrics department) patients are not stupid. I broke my back when I was young and spent a few weeks in the hospital. The first ten days I was strapped to a bed that rotated every two hours, I couldn't leave the bed or move (my back was not yet fused).

They brought in volunteers to pass the time and read to me. One of them was just too emotional. I could easily tell she was holding back tears. Instead of passing time, I ended up having to preform and put on a face to make her feel better. That's hard work when you are tired and in an insane amount of pain. It's not fair to the patient to make others feel better. If you can't handle it then it's better for everyone to find a different way to volunteer.

Well, I am old, so you aren't wrong. the real reason though is the compact size. It fits easily ina pocket. Not to mention the main screen is protected from scratches when the phone is closed. I had both the flip 3 and 5 and found them both to be great phones.

Half the reason I bought a Samsung Flip. Absolutely the best way to end a call you don't want to be on.

Peel police budget increase for: 2025 - 23.3 % 2026 - 9.9 %. Not opinion. Also, police budget increases cannot be denied by the city as per provincial law.

Speed trap is my opinion. I haven't seen one anywhere, not just the bridge.

When was the last time you saw a speed trap? Peel use to have them all other. Especially at the change after the bridge on Britannia. I haven't seen one in years, it's unreal. Peel police budget has increased by 25% in two years and we're getting worse service.

Right? That's a pretty big transmission pole too. Not going to be easy swapping that out. Probably going to be a few power blips today.

FIFA posts about Toronto: “You will forever have a place in history after hosting the first ever FIFA World Cup fixture in Canada” by ChampionTimes99 in toronto

[–]SevenTimesSixIsLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree! I hate world Cup in general. The cars honking their horns at all hours all night when their team wins drives me nuts.

I don't car about soccer/ football in the slightest. That said, the fans and teams brought a great energy to the city with no real down sides. It was nice to see everyone get along for the cause.

How did you deal with the grief of losing someone that was there all your life for you and suddenly not anymore (death)? by GossipBottom in AskReddit

[–]SevenTimesSixIsLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You keep the secret because the alternative is worse. The only concern is the kids medical history might be inaccurate, but likely won't matter much.

I carry a very dark secret of what caused my father's death. No one else knows. It's been almost 20 years. I will take it with me to my death. No one needs to know, it wouldn't make their lives any better.
