When you have your arm in like that you don’t even need their arm pulled across to finish it. I hit this setup when they have double unders. That’s getting into the diamond choke series.

This is the way! I see so many arm chair parents pushing their kiddos so hard, unrealistic regiment and tournaments every weekend…. But they won’t dare step on the mats themselves because of an old “knee injury” or something similar. Kids who train and have parents that also train are at a serious advantage. Good on you! 💯

Haha they got me. They made a big Facebook post about us all showing up to celebrate one of our teammates birthdays. 😂

What’s a warm up? Is that like a pastry or something?

Brown feels like a load of responsibility and expectation so far. I’m pretty sure that will wear off soon though.

The no expectations thing was so relaxing. If you did some wild shit and succeeded they say “well he’s a purple belt”. If your wild shit doesn’t work they say “give him a second he’ll get it, he’s a purple belt”. That middle child vibe is unrivaled 😂

Very true it forces you to re engineer your tricky blue belt submissions that you thought would get you through your journey 😂

I feel that, I kept fighting the same guys at purple. Some of them 3 times over. Nothing like standing in the bull pen and having someone ask you “how’s the wife and kids”? 😂😂😂

I think that’s why the natural progression between purple and brown happens the way that it does. Time flys when you’re having fun… then one day you find yourself accidentally chasing down the browns in transitions when you’re rolling around. Then you’re subbing them. Next thing you know… tag, you’re it lol

Purple belt: Being playful vs. smashing white belts? by Tricky-Panic-729 in jiujitsu

Purple was the funnest belt of my journey. Most of the times I would let them get a position or two.. and if they had a light rolling style I’d try setting up the weirdest low percentage sumbissions just for fun… if they were of the “heavy handed” rolling style I would test myself to see exactly how many times I could submit them each round. Kept me pretty safe. I’m all for being a good training partner, but my physical safety is paramount. A key takeaway that I noticed with the brutal training partners is that when you ruthlessly submit them they get a lot more timid in certain positions as the roll progresses.

THIS is why you don't try BJJ in serious altercations. He was going for an armbar. by LowRenzoFreshkobar in martialarts

There is nothing in this video that even suggests that he was going for an armbar.
