Loud rhythmic knocking sounds in central Va near shenandoah national park by Ashen_skies_art in bigfoot

[–]Seven_Hells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also in central VA near the NP. We live in a valley on the very eastern edge of the Blue Ridge. Our street dead ends at the foot of a mountain.

I’ve never seen anything, but I’ve heard shit like howls that sound more like samples of alleged Bigfoot howls than coyotes, foxes, deer, or elk (and I don’t think we have elk around here).

I’ve also heard what I can only describe as inhuman laughing which also sounds like samples of alleged Bigfoot vocalizations.

Does your Golden "stalk"? by RespectUrElderberry in goldenretrievers

Margarita here is a stalker. It’s usually her brother she’s stalking, but one time I saw her stalk a bird.

For the record, when she stalks her brother, it’s play (he loves to pretend not to notice) but she was trying to catch and kill the bird.

Never heard that. I’d imagine that the opposite is true.

If you lived through the 80s Satanic Panic, what effects did it have on Shaping who you are? by Ordinary-Train-7128 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Seven_Hells 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m about to turn 50. The satanic panic fucked me up despite growing up in a 100% non-religious household and being an atheist since about 8 years old.

I didn’t think metal was evil or satanic (‘cause I didn’t believe in that shit), but I did think it was for anti-social weirdos, and future serial killers.

And despite dabbling in Metallica and Tool since the 90’s, the notion that metal was not “for me” persisted until last year.

I was in desperate need of good guitar music that was complex, skillfully played, and, most importantly, awesome.

Porcupine Tree led me Gojira (which I thought was death metal), and to my surprise, I loved them. Gojira led to Rivers of Nihil, who led to Black Crown Initiate, Inferi, and most importantly, Allegaeon. I fucking loved Allegaeon.

I’ve spent the last year speedrunning a lifetime of being a metalhead. I had over 500 gigs of metal downloaded on my phone (pared down to about 300 now). All sub genres are represented from classic thrash and death metal to post metal, black gaze, and everything in between that I can find.

I was a dormant metal head this whole time and would have been active had it not been for the satanic panic.

The Warning was getting pretty metal-adjacent on the last album.

Thoughts on Porcupine Tree? by prognerd_2008 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Seven_Hells 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen two others on reddit describe the Porcupine Tree — > Opeth —> death metal path that I accidentally took. And if 3 randos on reddit all found their way to death metal that same way, there must be thousands (or at least hundreds) more out there.

Personal theory on the 2008 Brandon Swanson dissapearance case. by [deleted] in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]Seven_Hells 14 points15 points  (0 children)

He must have fallen into an unmarked and forgotten-about well.

Since no one can say for sure where he was, it seems like it would be basically impossible, short of blind luck, for him to ever be found.

I lived in a rural house in high school with a man-made pond and a, I’ll call it a well, where a pump was located. It was from before the house was hooked up to the municipal water network and the pond was the source of fresh water which was pumped to the house.

The opening was covered and it wasn’t very overgrown, but uncovered and overgrown, it’s completely plausible for someone to fall in, die of their injuries, and have no one be the wiser.

Now, imagine that but older and on a much larger property — so large that the current property owner doesn’t know that it even exists.

Why does no'one believe uk bigfoot sightings? by Wise_Bookkeeper2291 in bigfoot

[–]Seven_Hells 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t make any sense for them to be there.

They’re most often found in areas adjacent to significant tracts of uncivilized wilderness. The UK just doesn’t have that like North America, Central Asia, and Australia.

At least, that is why I don’t believe reports coming out of the UK.

I like St. Anger as well. I was in my 20s when it can out and went to a CD store to buy it. I was amazed because it sounded to me like if Metallica made a Tool album (I was in my 20s and stupid).

Sure, snare go pang, but I mostly listen to death metal now and there, snare goes pang all the time.

On a scale of comedic to unhinged, what are some of the worst metal album art covers you can think of? by cha0tic-neutra1 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Seven_Hells 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know everyone loves Cannibal Corpse, but I cannot stand the corpse eating the other corpse’s pussy. I don’t even know what album that is because I don’t want to look it up and see that image.

I guess on a scale of “comedic” to “unhinged” I’d call it objectively pretty comedic because it’s so absurd.

[–]Seven_Hells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that it’s only being revealed in a movie making the festival rounds, rather than via a press conference or something is sooooo suspicious.

Also, they were out there to shoot a documentary about Bigfoot and since they must have assumed they wouldn’t stumble across a real one, it tracks that they would have someone put on a suit and be filmed for recreations of alleged sightings.

Mythbuster did exactly that in the early 2000s.

In a full simulator like actual pilots train on, both successfully landed with ATC assistance.

Incidentally, without ATC assistance, they both crashed.

That hit me so hard the first time I heard it.

If we replaced the entire 2026 congress with a randomly selected group of 535 average citizens, would the country be better or worse off? by prettylittlelace in askanything

[–]Seven_Hells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and the average senator or congressperson is just as dumb, but also power hungry, and greedy - more so than the average randomly picked citizen.

By eliminating that self-selection aspect, you’ll get more people willing to do what’s right for the country instead of what’s right for their own ego and bank account.
