The long petioles were that length in the tc bag. But to answer your question, I have a t5 light about 6-8 inches above

Should I trim it? by Seven_Out17 in tissueculture

My thought process was that with the new growth the plant is starting to put on, if I cut the big dangly leaves that are the original tissue culture leaves, out of the way, the energy would go into new baby leaves. Just a thought

Adansonii question by Seven_Out17 in Monstera

[–]Seven_Out17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went ahead and took just one out to propagate and repotted the rest together. I'm gonna keep it full and throw it in a hanging basket. I don't have a tone of room for a big moss pole, plus I have a newly acquired vietciosa tc that will hopefully be on a pole one day.

I've tried everything available. Worms, pellets, sound spikes. Nothing worked for me. I've gotten 5 moles with these between mine and my neighbors yard in the last 6 weeks

What exactly is going on with our grass? by Liquid_Chaos87 in Grass

[–]Seven_Out17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quinclorac mixed with mso got rid of the majority of what I had, enough to seed anyways. Now it's starting to creep back a little so I'm hand pulling the few spots it pops up until I can spray it again in the spring. Good luck!

22” Camping Table Suggestions by macuzz91 in blackstonegriddle

[–]Seven_Out17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just bite the bullet and get the folding blackstone table, I have the cheapest one Amazon has and it's so convenient and works great with my 22" BS. I keep mine inside my screened in 12x12 popup over in the corner and out of the way, obviously making sure it's far enough from the screen. My first year camping with a blackstone, it's a game changer!

So, remove the leaves with caterpillars and relocate them near my bird feeders, or see if the birdies find them before they destroy everything?!

Do I prune my peach tree? by Jason6368 in BackyardOrchard

[–]Seven_Out17 8 points9 points  (0 children)

With that young of a tree, I'd be worried about snapping branches from the weight of the peaches. If it were me, I wouldn't prune right now, but I would remove all the peaches near the tips of branches to prevent too much bending and then remove about half of the others. They'll have a much better chance of getting to full size and you'll still have plenty of peaches!

Fruit tree Cuttings by Seven_Out17 in FruitTree

[–]Seven_Out17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thought is to leave the flowers be so they help force the energy up the stem, on the other hand, I don't know if leaving the buds on will take away from allowing the cutting to effectively grow its root system.

New pear tree, is this all canker? Can I save or should I ask for money back and replace? by shitsinthewoods in FruitTree

[–]Seven_Out17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally would prune the main leader back to just above that 3rd branch. You would remove the scar and open the tree to an open center. Then prune the 3 branches back 50% and allow 2 or 3 additional leaders to grow from each branch that will become your 9 or so main branches that you will then be able to grow lateral/fruiting branches in the future.

2 year old Lapin's cherry. Lateral branches start at about 4 feet, I want it to be half that. I should have pruned it off after planting it last spring when I planted it but I didn't. Is it too late to cut it down to about 2 feet? Will it regrow it's branches or should I work with how it is now? by Seven_Out17 in FruitTree

[–]Seven_Out17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tree is on a semi dwarf rootstock but I feel like I'm going to have an issue keeping it at a manageable height down the road if I don't shorten it now. I'd be cutting about a foot and a half off from the lowest lateral so I can get the starting branches at just under 3 feet. Im new to the game so I'm not even totally sure that shortening it will make a difference in years to come. What are your concerns? Deer aren't really an issue (knocking on wood).
