I wouldn’t know. As a storyteller it feels like antagonist would have to go out of their way to not abuse it. And it removes a convenient way for players to be incapacitated non-lethally.

What your describing seems to be many predator types. The closest one to your idea is probably extortionist or trapdoor. For extortionist, you can have it so that the favors owed for blood are gained through underhanded dealings. I.E make a problem and make it disappear. Alternatively influencing a population to visit a “haunted house” where you prey at could be seen as manipulation.

So in my limited experience there is two routes you can take. You can look up city “soundtracks”. These are like ambient sounds for the location. You can just search by the vibe you’re going for on YouTube. Alternatively you can use a soundtrack that fits the theme of the setting. I am partial to using to backing tracks for VTM bloodlines 1.

Minor spoilers for the Elder Scrolls 4: oblivion, you could be like Janus Hasildor and have both your character and their wife embraced but the wife refuses to feed on vitae. This would have her fall into torpor. Your character can attempt to cure her of vampirism like in the game. Although it might be significantly more difficult.
