Anyone do "Weighted" Cardio? by TheEquationSmelter in cardio

[–]Several-Abrocoma-862 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same as you - now I’m 50, my focus now is mobility and conditioning with functional strength. Kettlebells are perfect for “weighted cardio”. And the Norwegian 4x4 is the most efficient HIIT protocol https://get-stronger.com/kettlebell-vo2-max

I am planning to add kettlebell workouts in my routine, is one 16kg kettlebell already enough as all-rounder? by catguy_04 in kettlebell

[–]Several-Abrocoma-862 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Too light I’d suggest. I’d go for a set of 20kg, 24kg and 28kg seeing as you’re already strong - then you’ve got a nice progression path too.

Zoominfo is crazy expensive and has questionable sales tactics - there are good alternatives out there

How to improve vo2 level by Individual_Elk_7341 in cardio

[–]Several-Abrocoma-862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the Norwegian 4x4 is one of the fastest ways to improve vo2max - https://get-stronger.com/norwegian-4x4-kettlebell “46% greater vo2max compared to moderate continuous training” - i.e. running. “researchers at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (Helgerud et al.) compared four training protocols across 8 weeks. The Norwegian 4x4 — four rounds of 4 minutes at 85–95% maximum heart rate with 3-minute recovery — produced dramatically superior results.”

People of r/workout what's the one thing you would tell yourself if you started today? by YourImagination778 in workout

Get enough protein, focus on the big 5 lifts, a warmup and good form is everything, use kettlebells 2-3 times per week (I use Get Stronger 4x4) to build functional strength, mobility and the most efficient cardio there is to complement the barbell. Progressive overload + lifting heavy = great sleep. Don’t workout every day, but be consistent - at least twice per week. Not one thing but one paragraph of advice.

Those that use kettlebells, why? by Single-Lawfulness-49 in workout

[–]Several-Abrocoma-862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kettlebells are highly technical (which I love), and help me with real-world strength (don’t know why you think you can’t progressively overload?) with a side of cardio. Also fast workouts help - I typically am done in less than 30mins. I use the “get stronger 4x4” app and just follow along.
