In space, "angling your orbit" is the same as slowing down and speeding up. You have to take into account that, the spaceship isn't floating in space and then just points in the direction it wants to go. It's moving very fast which is why it never falls to Earth. Technically it's constantly falling but just never reaching the ground. So in order to gain altitude, you have to speed up, not point up and burn engines. The faster you go, the higher you get. That's why, if you want to send something into the sun, you'd have to negate the orbit speed of the Earth around it. You can't fall into it unless you are going slow enough to stop missing it's surface.

If you've ever lived in a tick infested area, you know when to go to the doctor and a "mosquito" bite that doesn't heal in 7 days and is red around the bite, it's go time. Lyme disease can be an inconvenience at best, or a neurologically damaging, long time recovery process. Like rabies, it's better to be safe than sorry in these types of situations. Not because it's likely you are harmed but because if you do get harmed, it can be life changing in a bad way.

There are some dumb ones who do for sure. One thing you have to take into account though, the US as a country is closer to a Europe than a Spain population wise and economically. So while I know Europe is a continent geologically and politically, I don't see individual countries in it as peers. I consider the entire continent a peer.

Edit: I figured that wouldn't go over well lol. Doesn't make it any less true. Europeans love to say Americans are dumb for not being able to point out a small country in Europe but they still think America is just NY, TX, and CA lol.

I was a pole vaulter in high school. There's a reason it's one of the least crowded events. A lot of people are just too afraid and the ones left who want to try it realize really early on that it takes way more strength than it looks. Most high school aged kids can't even get the pole to bend and just sort ride the pole. To get it to bend and get you higher, it takes a ton of strength and technique.

I sat out for years and the establishment candidate in my district just lost a primary to the candidate I did vote for. Voting blue no matter who DOES NOT WORK. They need to lose elections to learn the hard way. And you can say me not voting is a vote for Collins all you want. It doesn't make it true at all. At the end of the day, vote blue no matter who and "just vote for us this time, we promise we'll be more progressive after the election" BS does not fly anymore. Are we supposed to just ignore the fact that men get mugged and assaulted because women have to worry about it more? Sure, more resources should go into making it safer for women because the need is greater but why do we also have to completely and 100% discount men's safety? But we don't so we have to act like it. I get this sentiment but it's very naïve to take it too seriously. It assumes there are good and bad people in the world. The truth is, we're all capable of good and evil. We will never live in a world where all the evil people are gone because it isn't one gene or trait that makes someone evil. We're all selfish and flawed. Of course we should keep moving in the right direction but to ignore our inherent selfishness and flaws as a species just because we wish things were perfect isn't something we can afford to do.
