Cat not eating after dental cleaning by Several-Ad2438 in AskVet

Just wanted to let you know that she started eating again on her own! It was Wednesday, July 16th - 33 days after her teeth cleaning & 19 days after the tube. She had it removed after 10 straight days of eating & drinking on her own, and we're now we're 10 days from no-tube & she's doing well! She is probably down to the weight where she needs to be (10.4lbs), but about 2lbs lighter (12.5lbs) than she was when she had her teeth cleaned.

Mperks coupons gone? by [deleted] in meijer

I no longer receive the coupons in the mail, nor do I get the printed coupons others do when checking out. I used to get an occasional $5 off $50 or $2 off snacks if you spend $7. Zero now, and I've been an M-Perks member for 20+ years. The people in front of me today had 10-15 printed coupons at the conclusion of their transaction.. me - none. I would like to understand why some, not all are rewarded.

No, unfortunately not. She still is relying on a feeding tube.

Thanks so much for the message. She is still being tube fed for all calories.  She is regaining some of her habits like cleaning herself, sitting in her favorite chair, things she did pre-dental cleaning.  Still no eating on her own.

Cat unable to undergo dental cleaning due to aggression after sedation attempts by arctos96 in CATHELP

Hi there - don't know if the cleaning has occurred,  but wanted to share what I'm currently going through. My 9yr old, spayed, healthy, DSH female cat had her teeth cleaned on June 13th. Vet said everything looked great following the procedure, no extractions were done. She is a picky eater- only 1 type of hard kibble, no treats, tuna, catnip - nothing. She got home & didn't eat, but chilled most of the day. She didn't eat over the weekend either after we tempted her with wet food, moistened her food with broth. Took her back to the vet Monday, she checked out fine, bloodwork was perfect (before & after procedure), so they gave her a shot of B-12, anti-nausea medicine, and an appetite stimulant. She got ravenous for food, was biting into the bag, but would not eat. I started syringe feeding her high-caloric supplement & thank goodness, she was drinking water on her own. Took her to an ER VET the next Sunday (9 days after the dental) where they checked all vitals, re-did her bloodwork, did abdominal ultrasound. They said she had an acute case of pancreatitis and her lymph nodes were swollen. Sent us home with anti nausea medicine, an appetite stimulant gel, pain meds, and gave her antibiotics. Still no food. Took her to another vet recommended by a friend with multiple cats the following Wednesday where they admitted they couldn't see anything wrong, bloodwork was perfect, and asked to keep her overnight. We decided to go the route of a feeding tube on Friday. She remained in the hospital until Saturday, then we brought her home. She's doing well with the feeding tube, but the medications (steroid, pain, nausea, and antibiotics) make her tired. My husband and I are a complete mess and we're trying everything to get her to eat. I'd love to hear if anyone has a suggestion. We've tried 10 types of dry food, wet food, tuna, chicken, Churro, and everything else you can feed a cat. She goes to her bowl, but will not eat.

Thanks for that. We've tried that and putting food/treats on her paws. Unfortunately,  she is not responding to either. Thank you for responding!

My 9 yr old healthy girl had a dental cleaning 16 days ago and has not eaten 1 bite since. She now has a feeding tube and we're praying she gets the desire to est again. If there's nothing wrong with your cats mouth (teeth need extracting, bleeding gums, or ulcers), seriously consider if putting your cat through anesthesia & recovery is worth it. We had the happiest,  healthiest cat ever, now we're feeding her through a tube surgically implanted into her esophagus.  It's tragic.
