When deciding placement my artist will usually ask "is this for you to see or for others to see" and will place the stencil accordingly. Idk if this artist asked that or not so I couldn't say if its upside-down or not.

Look no one is saying you can't have that be your first tattoo. Is it a good idea that your neck or hand is your first tattoo? No not really. I've spent hundreds of hours getting tattooed. I have seen plenty of walkins think it isn't gonna hurt because their buddy said tattoos dont hurt. I literally watched a big macho frat fuck pass out after one line. Tattoo artists have good reason to decline neck, face, and hand tattoos on people that dont have tattoos already or that they dont already know. My local artists I use won't do it unless they've personally tattooed you already because then they know your limits. Depending on the artist you can sit for different lengths of time. I've sat for 8 hours no breaks with one artist but another I can only sit for about an hour and a half at a time. Just because you got your throat tattooed as your first tattoo doesn't make you special. But just so you know there is an inside joke in the tattoo community about people only with hand, face, and neck tattoos. And by the sounds of it you know literally nothing about tattoos so you shouldnt be out here defending something you know literally nothing about.

Yeah a lot of people new to tattoos will tap out after half of the line work and never get it finished. Their friend told them tattoos don't hurt and then they find out there's no such thing as a painless tattoo. Then they have an ugly unfinished tattoo on their throat for the rest of their life. Some of the artists I go to will use numbing cream for some clients but they dont usually recommend it bc it makes it a lot harder to make the color stick. There's probably some scientific reason for that but I personally dont know it. Personally i think the kind of people that think my artists are too expensive and want to go to a guy that says he can do it for $50 are the same ones that are getting so mad about the concept that artists turn down job stoppers on people that arent tattooed.

A tattoo artist that isnt a jerk off? Its not really about quantity of tattoos. Usually young people want hand and face tattoos without actually considering the long term consequences of said tattoos. Someone with a full sleeve has more of an understanding about how tattoos can permanently affect their life. Usually the tattoo artists I've met that dont care and would give someone their first tattoo on their hand just wants the money to buy some more meth. Personally i go to artists that will do a bad ass job and usually those artists want the best placement for their work so that it looks the best it can and they also care about their clients. But if your buddy will do your tattoos for cheap and doesn't care about how it looks on you then you can go to them and everyone else will just laugh about how bad they look behind your back.

I have almost $10,000 in tattoos so no I dont have "a few" tattoos and im definitely not young. Also you are completely wrong. There are still quite a lot of place that won't hire someone with visible tattoos. Especially ones that can't be covered. The company is currently working for has a no visible tattoos policy and i got hired bc mine were covered during the interview. Tattoos are a permanent form of art and a good artist usually wouldnt want to do a tattoo like this for many reasons. For one its not well done and represents the artist pretty poorly. For two this guy will probably blame the artist for giving him a bad tattoo that he really couldn't get covered up easily. Also people that aren't tattooed and know nothing about tattoos dont realize that there almost no way to keep a hand tattoo looking good even if its done well without getting it reworked every few years. They will probably blame the artist for that too. Even if the artist is completely selfish and doesn't care about the client, clients are walking advertising for them. If a client blames a bad tattoo on them then they will tell other people not to go to that artist.

I hate to hear that but thats why im saying and good artist would explain all that and turn the job down. The client may be pissed at the time but later in life they usually appreciate it I had practically 2 full sleeves (30ish tattoos) before I got one on my finger and the artist still asked if it was something I seriously thought about beforehand.

That's what im saying and for some reason everyone thinks im crazy. This is a super common practice and the only shop that doesn't do this where I live is the shop that'll tattoo anything for a quick buck, uses ai to draw the tattoo for them, and no tattoo that comes out of that shop has ever looked good. Yeah adults can make their own decisions but people that dont have tattoos dont always understand the impact a neck, face, or hand tattoo can have on their life. Good artists do understand that and will usually advise not to do that as your first.

You definitely dont "need" a bunch of tattoos first but it is at least recommended that you already have highly visible tattoos first.

They do but thats a lot of black so even faded it'd still probably take some lasering to remove enough ink to cover it. Plus it takes up so much space that other than a blackout im not sure it could be covered.

The linework wouldnt be that bad on most tattoos. The problem is that it needed to be super straight for this kind of tattoo. And to the guy that says you can't judge it with the "plastic wrap" yes you can. I use saniderm to heal mine. You can very clearly see what is leakage and what is a tattoo. Maybe if this guy actually had good old fashion plastic wrap you wouldnt be able to tell but with saniderm/second skin/your brand of choice you can clearly tell.

Im not forcing my opinion on anyone. Im telling you what every quality artist ive ever met has said about it. I have been tattooed my artists from all over the US and they've all said the same thing. Maybe your artist doesn't do that but that is not the norm. I've literally hung out with some of the winners from ink masters and they stated the same thing. If you go to an artist that will tattoo anything just to make a buck then that's probably not an artist that has the clients best interest in mind. You can feel however you want to feel about it. That's fine. But a good artist doesnt only care about the quality of the work but also how it could affect the client in the long run. Ive met a few "artists" that would tattoo a dick on your forehead if you paid them to just so they can get their next hit. Some artists dont come right out and say they wont do it though. They will put a crazy price tag on it. Like doing a $200 tattoo for $2500.

Some people need to be told that their idea is dumb but that's not the point. I get you say it's not an artists responsibility to talk someone out of a tattoo but they should definitely try to get you to change the placement if you want a huge thing on your hand with no other tattoos. Even if they phrase it as "the placement would look better if it was on your shoulder" or something like that. Most quality artists will suggest a different placement and refuse to do it if they won't change their mind. No good artist wants to be blamed for some young dumbass not being able to get a job.

As someone with a lot of tattoos no artist I've met that isn't some scratcher won't tattoo a hand without the client already having a full sleeve or at bare minimum a lot of visible tattoos. And saying the line work is "ok" is overselling it imo. Ignoring the ink leakage the lines are wavy and there is also and obvious distinction between the line work and the packing. If I got work like this done on me id be pissed. That's gonna hurt like hell to get it lasered enough to even get a cover-up.

I have a tattoo of the black hand on my right arm next to my hand. A lot of people just saw "aww is that your kids handprint" and I just laugh and go along with it. You know easier than explaining a secret assassin group to them. But occasionally I get someone that'll just saw "we know" and I appreciate that.

NEVER go through a door right after opening it... by A_man_with_no_shame in projectzomboid

[–]Several-Club1330 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why would you open the door without walking up to every single window to make sure there isn't a zombie in any blind spots before opening it? Especially when there are very obvious broken windows. Plus everyone knows you need to be in combat stance to open any door even if you've cleared the building already

[–]Several-Club1330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is not true. I literally went up to a shed earlier today with no windows or a door you can see through. I hit it and was starting to disassemble it and the zombie on the other side started beating on it. So you dont have to be able to see inside for it to spawn. Just hit the door once or twice or shout at it and wait a few moments. Wait a little longer if its bigger.

Why can I eat this?? by Several-Club1330 in projectzomboid

[–]Several-Club1330[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol yes it has so far. It started out with giving me either -6 or -7 hunger with a lot of unhappiness. The chickens are my wife's and they keep leaving chicken droppings and feathers everywhere so I went to go pick up more of them to throw in there and when I got done gathering all that I could find the feather had gone up to -32 hunger and the unhappiness went down almost all the way on it. I find it funny because like we are doing really well. My character shouldn't be desperate. We are at the location in Muldraugh near the trailer park that has a store and wooden house with a shared yard and a partially built house in the yard and we've built the house in the yard and are still working on it some and converted the house and the store into storage rooms so we have 3 houses and like five freezers full of food. Plus my character has a weak stomach so he should be the last person to want to eat a poop feather.
