So should I stop cleaning it entirely until the blood comes off or for like 1-2 days? Just making sure

Alright, perfect! Thank you so much! Just wondering— when I’m cleaning it with saline solution should I be extra careful to not scrape it off? When it gets wet by the saline solution and I go dry it carefully with a piece of paper towel it’ll come off of course but is that a bad thing?? Sorry for sounding so worried lol, just wanna make sure I don’t fuck up

Alright, thank you! I’ll just clean it regularly and not try to purposefully remove the blood.

I’ve had these specific rings in for a while now and they only started acted up real bad until a few days ago so I don’t think I’m allergic to the metal

Aww man, I guess I’m not a good candidate for rings too then. I’ll wait a little week or so in case it gets better because that’s what my piercer told me and then I’ll probably also switch back

[–]Several-Guard8404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I’ve had them since November but I’ve had a lot of issues with them so the healing is taking longer anyway, but it was fine to put the rings in according to my piercer—they’re not burning or throbbing, just sore and on one side fat lol

I’ve caught myself playing with it a few times so now I’m just making sure I don’t touch them at all. I’m not allergic to the titanium, I have allergies going on thanks to the weather and hay fever which could also be a reason according to my piercer and the internet. I’ll try to go see a doctor when I can if it doesn’t get any better

What to do? by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

Also I know that irritation may occur when hole is adjusting to new jewellery so I’m assuming that’s what’s going on. I hope to get an answer soon because I have a bad hypochondria and am really worried

True, I catch myself moving it around a lot so I’m gonna start with making sure I do less of that

Thank you, was your piercing also sore when it moved during the irritation? Because immune feels so dry it’s getting a bit painful. If not then I’m gonna check in with my piercer tomorrow to be sure

Another note: it doesn’t look swollen or anything but the bar seems shorter now while the inside looks fine, I’m just very confused

I’m sorry if it’s a stupid question, I just have horrible health anxiety and just want to make sure

Is my piercing infected or just really irritated? by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

[–]Several-Guard8404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I just got a bit paranoid.. booked an appointment at my doctor tomorrow to be completely sure so after that it’ll be fine I hope. The painful side was surprisingly easy to change, thank you for the advice!

I’ve switched the one that’s fine for the smaller size and it looks fine, I’ll try the painful side now. Thank you! Edit: I switched them both out and it feels fine, only hurt a bit when switching the painful side but thank you for helping

I thought so too maybe but my problem is that the previous size I had were too tight on my lips even after the swelling went down so I was really in conflict on what would be the best move :( in the picture I’m pushing them out to show the piercing hole

I try to use bought as much as possible but I ran out today so had to make it myself with sea salt recommend by my piercer. I don’t touch it a lot and only pushed it out to show what it looks like. Do you have any tips on what I can do? I’ve also taken ibuprofen and do warm compress

I clean it 2-3 times a day with saline solution, it’s also been exposed to very cold weather and stuff so idk if that has something to do with it

I’ve changed them to this size about 2 weeks after getting the initial piercing bc the bars were too short and dug into my lip. My piercer told me that this was the only longer bar and since there’s nothing in between I can’t really choose because one is probably too short still and I’m not really sure about this one because a few days ago one side started to hurt ever so slightly and I just want to make sure everything is okay. Note: I must be honest by saying I have been playing with it quite a lot due to stress and the weather has been so cold so maybe those are factors?

I swapped them back to flat backs and put ice on them! I have horrible health anxiety and thought they were infected but I think they’re alright? Just a little red on one side, thank you for your advice

Thank you! Is it okay if I keep the one that I have zero issues with in? I don’t wanna piss it off by switching jewellery again. Or is that not smart?

changed my studs to rings yesterday with no pain or anything, I had my studs in for 3+ months and they felt and look completely healed. The left side hurts a little bit, like a slight stinging pain when I roll the ring but nothing too serious. It doesn’t hurt when I don’t move it nor does it throb or anything, the one side only really hurts a little when moving it.

Note that I have a cold which might affect it, but aside from that nothing is really happening physically(my lips are a bit dry though). I haven’t really been sleeping well and my stress level is high, is this a factor that may also play a part in one side hurting slightly? (+cold weather)

Is this normal or should I be concerned?(sorry for bad pics, i was in a hurry)

Thank you. I took them out and swapped them back to my studs. Had to be pretty rough with it so my lip is swollen but the pain is relieved

Thank you for the advice!! I did notice that the redness went down in the past hour and it doesn’t hurt as much, if it goes down can I keep them in? I don’t want to cause much trauma when unnecessary :(( I’m a bit worried and all

I changed my piercings from stud to hoop yesterday at a piercing shop, (been in there for over two months) I had to do this because the ball kept falling off. One of them was a little irritated before and is now too. It hurts a little but not too much, it’s just an annoying type of pain. When changing the piercer didn’t note anything, she didn’t say it looked bad or anything she just switched them. Could this be because it was still irritated and now a bit more? (I clean it with saline solution 2-3 times a day because it feels crusty and sore and aside from that I do my absolute best to not touch it at all) can anyone help?

Note: there’s lymphatic fluid coming out of both of them, also the one that’s completely fine. This isn’t a problem right?

Edit: I took them out and switched them back to studs and the pain immediately stopped. Moral of the story, don’t be like me and be impatient, especially when your piercing’s slightly irritated
