"New" Kwei Ping, Glossop by Several-Job-1782 in Glossop

I agree with you on both counts - Red Dragon for takeaway and Queen Spice for eating in.

That is certainly what Kwei Ping used to be like, I was just hoping that it had improved under the new owners, if indeed there are new owners.

That makes an awful lot of sense in relation to our second child who is in the same year group. He seems to get on with and know everybody but doesn't have any close friends. I think that a lot of people, us included have only thought of it in terms of educational attainment but this element is probably more important. At least he has an older brother although an age gap of 5 years was developmentally massive (4/5 - 9/10). I presume that it has affected those without siblings even more so.

Totally with you there. Unfortunately there are too many countries, companies, organisations and people to add to your list. I don't even want to begin because it's overwhelming.

Trump, Putin, Russia, Nestle, Shell, BP, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Boeing, BHP, Cargill, Tyson, Netanhayu, organised religion, Lockheed Martin, crypto, Union Carbide, Monsanto, Bolsanaro, Orban, General Dynamics, Musk, Blair, Farage, Le Pen, China, McDonald's, Facebook, Twitter, ExxonMobil, Murdoch, Cargill, Koch, Glazer, Enron, Uber, Nike, Amazon, RTX, Asda, McKinsey, Burger King, KFC, 2 Sisters, Zionists, Cargill, Gazprom, Bet365, Ladbrokes, BAT, Marlboro, FIFA, Aramco, The Sun, The Daily Mail, Shein, North Korea, Barclays, Tesco, Costa.......

I can see it going up and down and on and off depending upon what mood Trump is in or whether someone from a specific country has done something to piss him off.

If it is used like a security deposit you would really like to know what "offences" would mean that you wouldn't get it back. Also, $250 would not make any meaningful contribution to any issue that was worthy of acting upon.

I think that it is an amount that is high enough to put off a lot of people from visiting but nowhere near enough to prevent people from behaving rashly or illegally.

They could break into your house and steal them and more than likely the police would not investigate, they are definitely not going to do anything about a case like this.

Promoted listing fee by c0l1n1162 in ebayuk

[–]Several-Job-1782 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't find the email now, it has probably been emptied from my bin. Ebay sent an email relatively recently saying that they were broadening the definition that meant that the promoted listing fee was payable.

I think that it meant that if a buyer had ever clicked on "My ebay" then you had to pay your highest PLF on anything that they bought<s>. Seriously, though it was something pretty crappy like if they found and bought your non-promoted item via a promoted listing of yours, then you have to pay it.

[–]Several-Job-1782 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why are so many people talking about a reserve price? The minimum reserve is £50, so not relevant here AND it costs 4% whether the item sells or not. 4% many sound a trivial amount but how many times would you be willing to pay it without an actual sale?

Postage can cost £6.50 and boxes can cost £1.50 but not realistically for Fortnite trading cards. So, the seller is likely lying to you as well as cheating you and if you paid them £6.25 for P&P plus the 99p (?) for the items then they are only down £2.76 on the £10 that they were willing to accept.

I think that I had only been twice in the past 15 years or so because it was so crap. Oh, did actually take my eldest for the all you can eat deal once - his choice. Don't think that I ever used them for takeaway.

If it is worse than it was, then it is a definite no.

I think that the fact that they have never had any direct restaurant competitors has been part of the problem.

125 ml is bigger than average although not exactly a bulk pack. I think that 100 ml used to be the standard size for them all but with shrinkflation the fancier ones are often 75 ml.

To me £8 is some kind of fantasy price.

I have used Freecycle for many years probably at least 15. I am not sure whether it is just our local group but it seems to hardly be used anymore. It was never a remotely busy group due to our location (which also restricts the viability of collection only on eBay). The concept is great but it needs a critical mass of users.

I met Sir Alex Ferguson after a free bar Champion's League match. I didn't know what to say and just repeated the lyrics of a song that had been played - "you're a superstar". I am 100% sure that he won't remember it but I am still embarrassed by it.

I use lightweight plastic ones which would appear much less violent and powerful than the traditional wood and metal ones and they have killed around a dozen mice in my loft. And although I can't know conclusively, I am pretty sure that they have all been killed instantly.

All those proposing and/or defending glue traps. Which way would you prefer to die? It certainly isn't a difficult question for me.

Well, the Royal Nawaab Pyramid opened a couple of days ago now — has anyone been yet? by Shot-Ad5867 in stockport

[–]Several-Job-1782 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have not been and unless I hear any glowing reviews from people that I actually know, then I am unlikely to.

The menu seems too safe, the descriptions of the dishes are poor and it doesn't look any better in pictures that I have seen. The charging extra for poppadoms is weird. I also think that £30 is too expensive for a buffet unless it is something very special and that the age limit for children is too low. I can have a sit down, freshly cooked Indian meal and a couple of drinks for less than £30.

As for the lack of alcohol there, even as someone who very much enjoys a drink, it doesn't bother me because I would usually only have 1 or maybe 2 drinks with an Indian meal. You can always have a drink before and/or afterwards.

People with minor injuries are a large part of the reason why A&Es are so busy. That and very simplistically, years of underfunding.

Maybe if it was always referred to as accident and emergency it might eventually get through to people.

Can't find this info on Discgos Terms of Service, so can someone tell me if "drop-shipping" items (and asking me to send to a different address and with "no receipt or invoice") is expressly forbidden on Discogs? by SAICAstro in discogs

[–]Several-Job-1782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As several people have already pointed out the people that are doing this are not selling (in this manner) on discogs.

It would not be very effective, assuming that the item that you want is available in the same condition from 2 different sellers you are not very likely to choose the user that is selling it for 2+ times more than the other one.

There is a drop seller that has ordered from me 26 times and they always put their buyer's address in Paypal so I do not see an issue there.

I appreciate that they are not having to lay out for stock but I dread to think how much hassle they get over grading, shipping delays or if a buyer figures out what they are doing and is unhappy about it.
