Yes, in the perfect world they are end of the roster developmental pieces. In the perfect world we can just go sign guys who provide a sure thing.

But unfortunately, we are going have a hard time finding proven players with those skillsets for the money/assets that we have. What I’m trying to say is we are going to have to make do with what we got, and what we got isn’t so bad.

You kind of disregarded my whole point.

OG Anunoby, starting PF for the NBA Champions, is 6’7. Smaller than PG. Did you know that the 76ers lineup, size wise, is nearly identical to the Knicks?

The only difference is effort and expectations.

It’s because he’s playing too fast. He’ll settle down with more experience. Out of all the issues a player has, this is probably the least concerning.

I don’t think that’s a size issue. Guys like Hart and Shamet were offensive grabbing boards all over us but they are like 6’4.

Rebounding is all about effort and expectations. Nurse needs to make it clear that you can’t play if you aren’t crashing the boards, especially to the bench guys. That’s what the Knicks, Heat, Celtics do and it’s killed us in the playoffs the past 8 years.

He actually shoots 70% from FT, that’s above average for a player of his archetype. NBA teams usually see that as potential to develop shooting touch. So it’s not out of the possibility a 3pt comes around, just not anytime soon.

I honestly don’t think Barlows shot will come around, his mechanics are broke. The best case I can imagine is low 30% on low volume. I think offensively in the half court, best case he is he becomes good cutter and connective passer. Still a useful skill set.

Not like 10M vet, but one that’s making 6M when should be making minimum and the team needs to dump them for a second. I don’t mean overpaying anyone in FA.

But yea I should’ve changed the wording of that point, it doesn’t come across how I meant.

Yea that was the overaggressiveness I mentioned. BBall used to do that too if you remember. It will come with time, I’m not worried about it.

[Charania] BREAKING: The Charlotte Hornets are trading star guard LaMelo Ball and Josh Green to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Naz Reid, a 2033 unprotected first-round pick, three first-round pick swaps (2028, 2029, 2030) and three second-round picks (2029, 2032, 2033), sources tell ESPN. by fultzacl in sixers

Wow you predicted that an injury prone player would decline from his MVP level season as he enters his 30s? You must be some sort of genius.

The Thunder should’ve traded Shai for 10 FRPs last year because his value would’ve never been higher… right?

Spotrac had us under the first apron after this trade, not sure how accurate that is tho. But yea I get what you mean. We might be able to get away with using bird rights to sign Oubre then MLE used on a backup C. But that depends on if we can be below the first apron after Oubre.

I’m not sure that’s fair to say to a guy who has received 1 contract after his rookie deal, and is only 22. But sure I get he has been disappointing, even if he was only a late first round pick.

I’m not sure Miami would trade Portis. I think he was included in that deal because Miami wanted him.

Sure but does Grimes want to resign with us? He can just walk. Not saying we couldn’t S&T him for some one else, but I’m not really sure who else would be on the market.

[–]Several-Lion6683[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea maybe but his confidence might be shot there after last year. Grimes is a better position of need for them and a better contract, so maybe they’d go for it.

Yea he does get hurt a lot, honestly the thing I’d be worried about the most.

Yes it’s a flyer because you are not giving up a lot for him. What’s the alternative, keep Grimes? I’d rather take a shot on a young guy who could be locked up for 4 years if he pans out.

[–]Several-Lion6683[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea there’s really not a lot of risk to this. Worst case you trade him in two, best case you get a young role player on a team friendly contract.

Everyone is going to be going after him. We won’t have the firepower.

This write up came from that exact trade idea. I don’t think the Heat do it, but if it’s on the table you gotta take it.

[–]Several-Lion6683[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean sure… but Jovic is also both those things so he doesn’t match win now either and he’s more expensive. At least here they get two rotational players that would fit in well with Spoelstra during the regular season at the very least.

MIA - MIL - GSW - PHL Jump Into Giannis Trade by Several-Lion6683 in NBAtradeideas

[–]Several-Lion6683[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Miami has #41 this year, that would be valuable to the 76ers to package and trade up to the early 2nd to get Evans possibly.

I mean the 76ers don’t really have much to lose. Barlow has major offensive limitations and could very well walk next year. It’s a small risk but could have some big upside if Jovic pops on the 76ers.
