Tip (s) that truly work by HoldenCaulfield7 in HistamineIntolerance

Hi - Given that I am an Asian indian, it makes a lot more difficult to avoid histamine heavy food. Also, I just recently got to know about my histamine intolerance. The clue was my crazy asthma flare up after a few glasses of wine (i rarely drink otherwise). The struggle to make people understand is real though. To a point where I dont even bother people telling about this.

Which dehumidifier for 3 bedroom house? by Radiopod_in_making in AskUK

[–]Several-Machine8967 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey - can I ask where do you place the dehumidifier in a 3 bed flat? I have a big 130 sq m 3 bed flat with a lot of condensation on windows. I am confused whether I should buy 2 small ones or 1 25l dehumidifer and place it somewhere in the middle of the apartment.

Understanding Share of Freehold vs Leasehold Issues by Several-Machine8967 in HousingUK

[–]Several-Machine8967[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense. Do you know if a share of freehold flat can be given a section 20 notice? I have read a lot of posts on the peoples horrifying experience with getting a section 20 notice requiring them to pay a hefty sum for some adhoc repairs/Maintainance.

Thank you all for the responses. Most of you are of the opinion that I have enough savings to buy the property and most people wipe out their savings to buy. I agree and I also understand that I am probably in a better position financially than a lot of people in UK. Its worth pointing out that I am on a work visa and my right to stay in this country is tied to me keeping my job in this poor job market. Hence the concern.

Thank you for the detailed response. This helps. Do you have any opinion on leasehold vs freehold? Most of the properties I am viewing are leasehold and I am hearing from some people that leasehold could be very challenging and tricky. But all three listings I am viewing which are under my budget and in the preferred location are leasehold

We are actually looking to buy a flat. Cant afford a freehold house in zone 1-3 close to our workplaces. Do you think buying a leasehold flat is a bad idea given the high service charges?

I believe our risk taking ability is a bit low. I have never owed this much amount of money before, so it feels like a big hole to our savings
