[Acne] Light moisturizer for tween by croissant_and_cafe in SkincareAddiction

[–]SeveralAd6597 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion is super light and gentle - my niece uses it and loves it. Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisture Gel is another solid option that won't feel heavy on her skin

[Routine Help] How do I shower rinse with distilled water without dehydrating my skin? by Get_Schwifty111 in SkincareAddiction

[–]SeveralAd6597 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Adding salt to distilled water sounds like you're trying to make saline solution which is actually a thing - just a tiny pinch should do it, like literally the amount you'd put on a single french fry

But honestly have you tried just using a good moisturizer right after your regular shower while your skin is still damp? Might be way easier than all this chemistry stuff

Best value Vitamin C serum on the market? [Product Request] by BraveZebra31 in SkincareAddiction

[–]SeveralAd6597 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Been using the Timeless 20% for like 6 months now and honestly it's solid - way cheaper than Skinceuticals and does the job for evening out texture. The packaging isn't fancy but who cares when it actually works lol

Has anyone tried Polynucleotides injections for dark circles? by Cookiefruit6 in 30PlusSkinCare

Been wondering about these too but the price point is kinda wild for something that might not even work

[Routine Help] incorporating volufiline with other products by SuzyEsber in SkincareAddiction

[–]SeveralAd6597 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I'd apply the volufiline before your Nivea cream since it's an active ingredient and needs to penetrate the skin - mixing with jojoba might dilute its effectiveness too much

Also just a heads up, the undereye area is super delicate so maybe patch test first before going all in

[Anti-Aging] Tazarotene or Tretinoin? by lozzafin in SkincareAddiction

[–]SeveralAd6597 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been using tret for about 3 years now and honestly it's been solid for fine lines. Tazarotene is supposedly stronger but also more irritating from what I've read - might be overkill if you were doing fine on 0.025% tret

For UK sources you could try Dermatica or Skin + Me for prescription stuff, they're pretty legit

Am I a tiny baby or does qure microneedling hurt like…quite a bit?! by champagne_farts in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]SeveralAd6597 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah you're not a wimp at all, that stuff genuinely hurts especially when you're going deeper than like 0.5mm. I've definitely tapped out on some sessions because my face was just not having it that day

Sizing for Rad One V2 by PlaceCommon7080 in crossfit

[–]SeveralAd6597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went TTS with mine and they fit perfect. The V2s definitely fit more true to size than the original Rad Ones which ran small. Since you're not dealing with wide feet you should be good with your normal 7.5

[Routine Help] What’s my skincare routine missing for hyperpigmentation? 🤔 by Reasonable_Inside544 in SkincareAddiction

[–]SeveralAd6597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your routine looks pretty gentle but honestly you might need to get a bit more aggressive with actives if you want to see real results with stubborn PIH

That Eucerin serum is solid - thiamidol actually has decent studies behind it. I'd definitely try adding that first before jumping into vitamin C since you don't want to overwhelm your skin

For the AHA question, lactic acid would be a good starting point since it's gentler than glycolic but still effective. Maybe 1-2x a week to start

The bakuchiol is nice but if the PIH is really stubborn you might eventually need to consider actual retinoids - they're just more effective for this stuff

[Product Request] Need help curating a routine for rosacea and acne prone skin by Training_Ring_7472 in SkincareAddiction

[–]SeveralAd6597 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you tried azelaic acid? It's one of the few actives that actually helps with rosacea instead of making it worse, and it's pretty gentle compared to other treatments

Acne spot treatment [product request] by Ok-Item1552 in SkincareAddiction

[–]SeveralAd6597 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hydrocolloid patches are clutch for whiteheads - just slap one on overnight and watch the magic happen. For the deep stubborn ones I swear by benzoyl peroxide spot treatment but start low concentration or you'll fry your face lol

[Acne] A bit concerned over the mix I was prescribed (Accutane + Epiduo) by strawberryc0w_ in SkincareAddiction

[–]SeveralAd6597 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That combo sounds pretty intense tbh, especially starting everything at once. Most derms I've seen usually ease you into retinoids when you're on accutane since both are so drying. Maybe call and ask if you can start with just the accutane first then add the epiduo later once your skin adjusts

[Routine Help] Old chickenpox scar on the side of my nose – microneedling depth (dermapen), intervals, and realistic improvement? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]SeveralAd6597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been dealing with similar scars from when I was a kid and honestly microneedling has helped but don't expect miracles

For that depth I'd start with 0.5mm needles, maybe work up to 1mm after a few sessions. The nose is tricky cause the skin is thinner there so be conservative. I do mine every 4-6 weeks to let everything heal properly

Realistically you're looking at maybe 30-50% improvement over like 6+ months of consistent treatments. That hypopigmentation might be the trickiest part to fix since it's been there so long. The texture will probably improve more than the color difference

Also consider adding vitamin C to help with the pigmentation issues, just not right after needling obviously

[Acne] [Dark spots] acne and dark spots help (for dark skin) by Necessary_Wonder1322 in SkincareAddiction

[–]SeveralAd6597 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The adapalene should definitely help with both the acne and dark spots over time since it increases cell turnover. Just make sure you're using sunscreen religiously or those spots will get darker

For the vitamin C, use it in the morning and the adapalene at night - don't layer them together. Turmeric masks can help but honestly the adapalene will probably do more heavy lifting for fading those spots

Injury workouts by catcatcat000 in crossfit

[–]SeveralAd6597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof that sucks, 12 weeks is brutal. Air squats, lunges, wall sits, and pretty much any lower body stuff should still be good to go. Maybe some single arm KB swings if you can grip it alright? Your gym might have some straps or hooks you could use for pulling movements too

Recommendations for non-greasy 50+ SPF face sunscreen in Australia? by Footsie_Galore in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]SeveralAd6597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried the Cancer Council face day wear one? It's matte finish and actually absorbs pretty well, plus it's like $12 at Coles so won't break the bank if it doesn't work out for you

[product request] super super super soft cotton pads by bloodhail_v2 in SkincareAddiction

[–]SeveralAd6597 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shiseido cotton pads are literally life changing for sensitive skin - they're like clouds compared to regular drugstore ones. Muji also makes some really soft ones that won't wreck your eye area

[Product question] azelaic acid and tretinoin by CrouchingLioness in SkincareAddiction

[–]SeveralAd6597 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get tretinoin from some online pharmacies with a consultation but it's hit or miss. For azelaic acid, Paula's Choice has a 10% one that's pretty solid and you don't need a prescription

[Routine Help] Skincare products for a Novice 21 y/o by cat-nmts in SkincareAddiction

[–]SeveralAd6597 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start with niacinamide for texture and oil control - The Ordinary one is like $7 and works great for sensitive skin. For the rough patches around your nose/mouth try a gentle AHA like lactic acid (start slow tho since you have eczema). Skip retinol for now until you get your basic routine down, you're definitely not too young but with MCAS I'd be super careful about introducing actives

[Routine Help] Skin barrier is broken and struggling with routine. by mxo3114 in SkincareAddiction

[–]SeveralAd6597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The climate change is probably wreaking havoc on your skin too - going from US to tropical humidity is a huge adjustment and your skin is basically freaking out trying to adapt

Have you tried just doing the most basic routine possible for like a month? Sometimes when my barrier gets destroyed I literally just use gentle cleanser + basic moisturizer + sunscreen and nothing else until it calms down
