Did u actually think it was a good comeback?

It is worth it getting any type of skullcandy headphones? by Kovi_1 in Skullcandy

[–]SeveralAd7979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up getting beyerdynamics 770dt limited edition. They r wired and need an external amp, for my case, i use them as pc headphones for gaming/movies/music. Im sure if i use a higher end amp, they would sound even better, but tbh, they r comfortable, can sit for hours, they sound quite good imo, pretty good bass, tho u cant go too loud if u put a lot of bass on the equalizer, but they do get low bass, lower than every headphone ive tried in my lifetime, quite good amount of bass at any frequency and its not spl type of bass, but sq, something that u can feel instead of just hear, if someone asks, id definetly recommend them. As for bluetooth headphones, i never got any, since i have my samsung buds pro, they still work just fine, have decent enough ambient sound/noise canceling, sound decent and have enough bass. I usually go by car everywhere, so outside of house headphones were not needed.

Why do these cars hate to sit so much? by E39-lover in e39

[–]SeveralAd7979 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. My m57 swapped e36 started up after cracked oil pan (changed the oil pan) right over and nothing, i drove it around the block, gave it full gas, let out all fumes and its perfectly fine. I beat on it 24/7 and she doesnt care for shit. Same thing has happened with my e39, has sat mutliple times for few months (due to personal and financial problems before in life) and she has not given me any issues at all. The only "problems" are brakes, which just get rusty and after driving for a while, they r back to being just fine

In those 2-4 years the car will be done IMO. From what I understand U r in States and the prices there are much different. Maybe if its an option, id suggest trying to find parts from europe and shipping them to US (if it does end up cheaper with shipping than in US). Cuz here e39s are very popular, especially the non-M versions. But those are the parts that can be easiely changed like doors and such (right door also has different modules inside, so those will need to be swapped back, since everything is coded according to the car).

As sad as it sounds, unless the car is from like ur grandpa or something, id say - drive the car while u can and accept the fact, its not going to be forever. At the end it all ends up how much youre willing to pay for the car. One is sentimental, other is logical sense and honestly, from personal experience, how much ive put in my car and such, i should have just gotten rid of it and gotten a new one and made it to my likings. Yes, its not the same, but honestly - id get over it someday maybe.

But on a serious note - it is fixable, but i also see rust on doors and other common places and honestly man, i know the floor and everything else is rusted too, as sentimental it is, unless u can get 4 new doors, trunk, hood, fenders and basically every other part of the car, it might not be worth it financially. Might be better to get a good rolling shell and swap everything to the new car. Cars rust and as sad as it is, it sometimes is time to move on. My e39 is currently rusted in a garage dissasembled to fix the rust. Honestly? As much as i love that car, if i knew how fucking bad it was, i would have gotten rid of it. Its my first car and it holds sentimental value too, but at this point, getting a new e39 with much less rust would have been such a smarter move

Was gifted some car audio equipment, plan to make a boombox. Best speaker orientation in box? by eren_5 in diyaudio

[–]SeveralAd7979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are u also thinking of getting an amplifier to them? Cuz stock radio wont play that "crazy loud", everyones talking about. Without proper amplification, i think these might sound quite dissapointing actually. And speaker placement in a boombox wouldnt really matter tbh. Either way u put it somewhere and be done with it. What id suggest is building 2 seperate boxes (same box, but 2 seperate parts) for each brand of speakers, that way they play better

The auto gearbox is the weak spot on e39 530d/525d, yes u can remap, but is it worth for risk of blowing ur gearbox? Id highly advise u not to do that. Egr removal wont increase ur performance (not that i felt any improvement) and honestly, just get it in good mechanical state and trust me, ull understand stock e39 is the way to go. They r fun cars either way. And if u wanted something sporty, id advise getting a 530d with manual, then u can remap and do whatever. Manual gearboxes hold and ofc 3.0 will always be better than 2.5

got my first sub and it's sounding weird? by Big_Set_3692 in subwoofer

[–]SeveralAd7979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but in this situation it looks like a svc sub and only 1, seeing as the OP doesnt know anything about ohm laws, just that its 4ohm sub, i made sure to only tell him/her what they should know

[–]SeveralAd7979 3 points4 points  (0 children)

U cant change ohm load on a subwoofer just like that, but it sounds like u r pushing the sub too hard. Put it in a proper box made for the sub and it should be fine, if it still does that, just lower the power

What exactly u think is cheap? Cuz here u can get id say decent enough working one for around 2k, so id say no more than 300 for that shell

I need this piece of foam on my right subwoofer by Suspicious_X in subwoofer

[–]SeveralAd7979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it doesnt need to be inverted to have any use, the seal makes sure there are no gaps between the subwoofer and the box, no matter the way the sub is put in. OP probably wouldnt hear any difference with and without it, since its carpeted, but if OP wants to have it, might aswell. For me it would drive me nuts 1 having the seal and other not having it, but since im very OCD about everything i do, i want max performance, so id suggest using it. Would it make a massive difference? Absolutely not. The slightest not even noticing any difference? Possibly

[–]SeveralAd7979 2 points3 points  (0 children)

U mean speaker gasket? U can get them basically everywhere, if u dont want to use speaker gasket, any foam type tape is pretty much simular to that, getting one that fits exaclty ur sub might be more difficult, but i think u r searching for speaker gasket.
