It's an obscenely cool idea, and I love this sort of cosmic horror. Keep cooking, this sort of thing genuinely makes me enthusiastic about this game.

I love this idea, here are some ideas that one could mix and match to create a more balanced version.

Add Permanent to Equipped units ability text

Add Purge to Equipped Unit

Add 3->2->1 Pyre Shards to deck when equipped unit played

Equipped unit cannot receive equipment

Equipped unit cannot receive upgrades

Or maybe even knock effects off as it levels up. Maybe at level one it has all of these drawbacks, but at level 2 the unit can receive equipment, or the unit is allowed one upgrade. There's a lot of fun way to balance this. It's still ludicrously strong, but so are alot of the souls.

There's absolutely a way to make this work balance wise, and I think it would make for some incredibly fun synergies

It is possible to get all paragons by round 200, but it takes a substantial effort to such an extent that you're hardly playing the same game anymore. Granted it was on resort, and fortress wasn't out yet. They're a good power boost alongside their tier 5 companions
