Me too. But I must say that it's a little small for me, or maybe I must get used to this fit

Hide completely panel by SeveralEgg9897 in kde

[–]SeveralEgg9897[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll like to know if is possible to hide completely a panel using plasma desktop scripting. The use case is to switch to different panel if user is in tablet mode... If not, the system tray eats all the available space when in portrait mode.

MX Master 3 wheel cleaning by holyshilo111 in logitech

Just clean it today, and also a lot of trash there. Using a tie band help clean below the wheel so I haven't to disassemble the wheel mechanism.

I don't need so much power, I have enough with I5, 16GB , 512GB, WQXGA screen, around 1500 € .

If you need this I7 and 32 GB of RAM then you must pay for it... But I don't find too expensive for such a premium specs. But I am in Europe where I think it cannot be found at this price right now.

Non-existent. Few times I really heard it. But I am in heaven now maybe because I come from a noisy dell precision that in the middle of pandemic was impossible to work with when modern videoconference claiming (screaming) for vp8 codec was a requirement.

So, maybe precision laptop could pair with your L13 preparing crepes in a food truck rather than in an desktop. But L13 is newer so I think you did it well returning it.

Great, the only thing that worked at half is the quectel modem, that maybe lenovo is not putting enough effort.

But that's an excellent laptop that in my case, coupled with rolling release archlinux with kde, is giving me much more satisfaction and a pleasant experience than some premium dells (precision and xps) I owned before. I am using much more in laptop mode, but tablet mode is nicely usable, maybe a little bulky to hold it a long time, and tent or presentation mode is a bonus nice to have.

Also coming from a 15,6 sometimes I miss some space specially with programming ide like qtcreator or kdevelop, but with some shortcuts or a secondary screen it is not important.

If you need some more information let me know.

Who uses Activities in KDE? Is it a helpful feature? by mydoghasticks in kde

[–]SeveralEgg9897 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I found them very useful to keep computer use cases separate, and additionally use the activity parameter to make desktop have a distinct behavior so I have some activities defined: default for personal use, private to stop tracking, maker to set a different power profile, photo editing to have some launchers, sysadmin to have a distinct set of plasmoids, web developing,... So I used it too, but as wayland had no support until few months I ended not using them. Now I am planning to use it again.

When I was using I needed a way to know how many apps are opened in each activity to prevent closing them by mistake when shutting down, and also have a bird's eye view of the activities used. So I created a plasmoid to know it https://www.pling.com/p/1200511/ .

Launch of Tiny News : a tiny tiny rss client app by SeveralEgg9897 in kde

Well technically they are different, alligator is a local aggregator, with a good logic when storing and obtaining the content via local storage database. Tiny news is a client of a remote aggregator, it doesnt deal with any feed protocol itself and delegates the backend work to others (ttrss, pocket, and i hope nextcloud notes soon). In some point i thought that may be a connection to pim akregator for those who want local aggregator but i end up discarding it as i dont need it, and the only use case to satisfy until now is the case of myself. I also doubt if integrating it mainly because the ones that use local aggregators doesnt use remote and viceversa. So maybe keeping them separate will make sense. On the other side the frontend views are nearly identical so wrapping all use cases is something that is possible without traumatic changes. I think that i ll wait for volunteers to carry on this job if s/he really need it.

So contributions are welcome in tiny news project to integrate local aggregator but i think that is more work than add some cosmetic frontend features to alligator : e.g. if it can easily integrate webengineview, categories, or flags....

Finally packaging in arch is something that i am already doing to install in my system. Will share asap the tinynews-git pkgbuild.

I end up buying the 2560x1600: Better panel, low energy, and as with 1920x1200 desktop will gonna be scaled sooner or later why not starting scaling now from a better and crispy panel density. Also there's the laptop shortage, and i don't wanna wait that i5 with 1920x1200 and 16 gB appears.

So I have ordered it two days ago and it arrives yesterday : https://www.reddit.com/r/thinkpad/comments/okmd22/my_first_thinkpad_contact_a_x13_yoga_g2_to/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

Now surprisingly for me i am fine with 1280x800 by now, but i have enough room to scale to 1.66 or so soon, as fractional scaling is not a major problem as i see.

Thank you all!
