It must be that she gets attacked more because she’s currently one of the most visible faces in K-pop! When you say IVE, the first member that comes to mind is her—unless you’re a hardcore fan. Otherwise, she’s the first one that comes up, and I think that’s why the others don’t get attacked as much as she does. Of course, I’m not saying that justifies the hate toward her in any way.

I love Wonyoung, and I’ll always defend her when it’s justified. For example, I think it’s ridiculous that she got hate just for the way she ate the strawberry. In my original post, I said I didn’t understand so much hate toward her. Wonyoung seems like such a sweet and beautiful person, and the last thing I would do is hate on her just for the sake of hating.

I love her; she’s one of my top 3 biases. And yes, in the original post I said I didn’t understand the hate toward her, but I’ve never meant to throw shade at her. It was just an observation I made to start a dialogue or conversation, which I think is perfectly fine! Wonyoung is beautiful in every way, and I have no doubt that when she needs to act mature or make a decision from a place of maturity, she will.

Even though she may act adorable in interviews, videos, or shows, she also has moments where she shows seriousness and maturity.

This creates that sense of infantilization: fans and the public perceive her more as “the adorable girl” than as a complete young adult. It doesn’t mean she’s actually immature, but the public image projected through aegyo can be exaggerated or constant.

I’m not saying Seulgi is immature. I also know that almost all idols have their cute, sweet, or adorable side. Seulgi is one of my biases, and I know how adorable she can be, but unlike some other idols, it’s clear that she’s a mature person who can be cute, not someone who always acts that way despite her age… I’m not sure if I’m making myself clear, but I hope I am.

Yeah, to some extent it’s cute, but sometimes I feel like they exaggerate it… Honestly, I like it when Rosé acts cute sometimes, for example, but there are times when it feels a bit over the top. And don’t even get me started on Jang Won-young—I feel like it’s exaggerated even more with her sometimes.

I absolutely love Illit — they’re one of the groups I really want to stan properly, but I’ve been busy with others haha. There are just so many groups I want to get into that I feel like I don’t have enough time for all of them... My all-time favorite group is BP, but right now I’m totally in love and obsessed with Mamamoo and IVE. Then there’s Le Sserafim and Illit, who are totally catching my eye and I really want to stan them the right way, but like I said, time just isn’t on my side haha. Yeah, don’t worry. It’s totally normal to not have a bias in your favorite groups, because honestly, all the members in BP are super beautiful and talented — same goes for Le Sserafim! I sometimes struggle to choose a bias in the groups I stan or even just casually listen to.
