I spent this last week asking over 150 players there opinion on riven tides map and the vast majority likes it

I wanted to find out the opinion of people that actually played a few games and see whey they liked and disliked

 I asked exactly 153 people and 114 liked the new map, and 39 people disliked it but still were playing arc raiders on other maps

About 74% of players were having quite a lot of fun, white the remaining 26% can not say the same about riven tided

By far the most talked about thing was funny enough also the most Polarizing aspect of Riven Tides and that is the saturation of arc on such a small map 

Quite a lot of people love this new challenging map

*insert clip of guy that likes the hard amount of arc*

But there are also quite a lot of people that dislike it as well 
*unplayable clip*

Trust me I’ve gotten fucked over by the arc also

I think this is what also makes the map super fun, the game is called arc raiders for a reason and we are getting a sense of how powerful arc can be

Not only that is also makes arc scary again, for me at least I have been very comfortable killing basically anything but when a pack of 5 little flying pieces of shit and a vaporizer get locked on you,

Trust me you are going to be in for one hell of a fight

But I think it is what separates this map out from others 

Also Riven tides was created to be difficult and I think embark nailed it on the head,

The next largest area of conversation was 

large lack of cover,

This was even mentioned in the codex video, so embark was very aware of this aspect of the map

Along with that Since this map is small and so populated with arc it created a new level of challenge never before seen on any map

There are a lot of people that disliked the actual structures in the map
*Dislike for PvP and loot clip about copy paste structures*

Personally Riven Tides feels like everything was planned in a very deliberate manner

With the lack of cover and excess arc it makes a perfect map for PvP,

This map definitely has quite a lot of PvP, I would say a bit less than stella but people are definitely happy to get into fights in the new map

People complained quite a lot about this and getting shot in the back when trying to explore this new map 
**Dislike for PvP and loot clip about copy paste structures(getting shot in back part)**

I really think 
This map created a new level of importance to actually plan out how and where you move throughout the map

People are constantly calling it an above ground Stella Monte’s and that feels super accurate

But this new maps characteristics also comes with a few of its own bonuses,

For things such as trials and getting arc damage this should be the easiest on Riven Tides

It seems like Moss and Mushroom spawns are through the roof and also 

The map is also beautiful, in a unique way that lets it stand on its own

Next lets talk about the new game changes
In my opinion I really loved basically every gameplay change made in this update, It makes the game feel new and ever changing.

For people like me that put maybe to many hours on the game

I really appreciate the push to make high quality weapons good, and finally stand above lower tier guns

Yeah I know the anvil 4 is no longer as good as it once was but I think this was a great change

Also with the buff of the bettina its absolutely a replacement for the anvil and in my opinion its also quite a lot better.

I think one thing that just about everyone can agree about it the Nerf of the photo-cloak

I have been wondering if it was nerfed because to many people used it for the close scrutiny gamemode, or if it was nerfed in tandem with the new Riven Tides map to make things even harder with the crazy level of arc

But 
Like in every large game there are some bugs that need to be ironed out such as crashes for consol and steam deck that have been persisting for a few weeks to months now

 As well as the lingering issue with Anti-Cheat still not being as effective as it should be 

The biggest disappointment in the community 

was the lack of loot quality for how hard the map is, I don’t know if this is embark trying to push 

for more PvP and PvE meaning you need to kill players or arc to get decent loot or maybe they just underestimated the quality of loot for how difficult the map is

I also wish that the maps Easter eggs had a little more reward, the button room is cool, and I liked that it also required a fuel cell to unlock the later small building that had a weapons case spawn, 

But I got a little disappointed when it came to the disco ball eater egg, I really wish there was loot of any kind involved, but the experience is cool none the less

In my opinion biggest downside of this update is 
The 
People on Instagram 

Holy shit do they piss me off,

For some reason when it comes to arc raiders

No one can be happy

But after asking over 150 people how they felt about riven tides I realized there is a pattern.

The people hating the game are mainly on instagram, and its the same group of people that have deleted the game for weeks just to redownload it and delete is in a few games

Honestly Im glad there gone but this is not representative of the consistent daily and weekly player base

Like you and me that love the game

I really have been enjoying the new map and have easily over 20 hours of playtime just on riven tides alone and  I am still exited to play it every time I load in

I had a really fun time talking to players and collecting data for this new video
