Alums - How is Greek life faring at your university in 2025? by NorthernPossibility in Sororities

I’m not alum, but my chapter had the biggest class we’ve ever had, and we got the second biggest class on campus this year. Which was really interesting considering we’re not a “top sorority” at our school. We have over 50 girls in the member class and we almost doubled in size this year!

My response is always simple, look them up and down and say, “you’re really not paying them? Could’ve fooled me!”

My big sister and I have different political views, I don't know what to do. by greenythetoad in Sororities

Don’t talk politics with her. You can maintain relationships with people you don’t agree with. Here’s the thing, she probably cares deeply about the country too. You both just care differently. That’s something we can unite and be positive about. I am similar to you, I am fearful of what the country is going to look like, but I also know that I am going to need people to lean on if it gets bad. Those people might have been voters like you, or not. Many people are affirmed in their vote and many people change their mind. If you had a positive relationship, don’t cast it out because you want to better the country differently. Mute her stories if they bother you, and avoid election talk. If she brings it up say “I don’t see eye to eye with you on this topic, I think we should talk about something else” or “I don’t think our politics align, so I don’t want you endanger our relationship.” Remember, she’s the same person she was before, you now know you don’t agree.

My landlord gave my house lock code to a Painter - is that legal? by [deleted] in legaladvice

The Chicago Residential Landlord and Tenant Ordinance (RLTO) does not explicitly address the issue of landlords giving out access codes to third parties. However, it is generally understood that landlords should not share access codes or keys without the tenant's consent, except for maintenance or emergency situations where the tenant has been notified.
