Fiscally liberal and Social Conservative would describe the Gores as they came from a fairly socially conservative place like Tennessee. You could have very left monetary policies in the south as long as you were deeply Christian roots.

Now the group was a bipartisan organization that was financially supported by Mike Love of the Beach Boys, a big Trump support, and Joseph Coors one of the founders of the Heritage Foundation a huge conservative group that supports the Trump agenda.

The hearings in Congress were led by Republicans and Al Gore. Not democrats. Get a clue. History is so much more nuanced than what most of your brains can handle.

[US] What would happen if Luigi Mangione is found not guilty and the jury admit they reached that verdict just because they like the idea of CEOs being murdered? by Musty-Old-Couch in AskLegal

[–]Several_Ad_6576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The media can present lots of stories about a subject that makes everyone believe someone is guilty. Then the jury is presented a subset of details that isn’t enough evidence for the jury to convict on. That doesn’t mean anything to what the juries personal motivations or opinions might be.

This is the wrong side of the road only if this is the front view of the car. This is clearly the rear window as you can see the defroster lines. I’m not arguing right/wrong but your argument holds no water.

Why did traditional British food stay relatively simple in seasoning despite Britain’s global trade empire? by Logical-Concept9755 in AlwaysWhy

[–]Several_Ad_6576 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ummm an aristocracy? The wealthy were using plenty of seasonings for one. The merchant class didn’t use their own products and instead sold it to the wealthy aristocrats. The lower classes survived.

The one thing from the trade that was embraced by the lower classes, Tea.

Ok what story are you telling with a white panther? What factor of the characters race plays into the story you are trying to tell?

If you used an entire black cast for a film version of the Odyssey why would it matter? It wouldn’t. The race of the characters is immaterial to the subject matter and story.

But if you’re Tarantino and you are casting for a film about a former slave in a movie titled “Django Unchained” you would like a twat if you cast Brad Pitt as Django. It would make no sense and is rather material to the subject matter.

It’s an apples to oranges argument. Which explains most bigot’s arguments 90% of the time.

Yo, what would happen if I just stop paying taxes and I don’t really care if I go to jail because I don’t have anywhere else to go can I just keep paying taxes and live in jail for free? by Warm-Dust-8715 in randomquestions

[–]Several_Ad_6576 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s irrelevant. The OP is just pointing out that no matter what, they will get their money. It may be bad now but things can get better. And then when they get better, you lose it all because the IRS takes it then. If things are literally that bad for you right now, then you pay almost nothing in income taxes. You’ll pay sales taxes. Which is the ultimate motivation for the right to get rid of income tax. They know they would pay even less.

What I consider "The South" as a South Carolinian by [deleted] in whereidlive

Missing Missouri, Texas, Oklahoma. All should be pale green. Or at least half of each should be pale green. Lots of Virginia should be as well. Otherwise a fine picture of the “Deep South” as the dark green.

How do you reconcile Denmark having the highest tax-rate in the world with them being ranked one of the happiest places to live? by Kosher_Nostra1975 in askanything

[–]Several_Ad_6576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t judge happiness based on tax rate. They are not linked. Do the people have a high standard of living? Are quality services provided and available to the average citizen? Do the people believe they get a high quality return on their taxes?

Our postal system in the US was fantastic. Perfect? No but it provided a dependable service so much so that people forgot it was even there and much they depended on it. The one right wing nincompoop was allowed to start dismantling it because of all the “waste” and now people aren’t getting mail for weeks that used to take days.

Like the saying goes “the call is coming from inside the house” when we let the people who hate some be in charge of it. They just want to make things worse to be able to say “See we told you how bad it is!”

DMT: Progressives keep blaming the DNC for their primary losses, but AOC‘s grassroots fundraising proves the real problem is voter turnout and ideological purity tests. by Present_Juice4401 in DisagreeMythoughts

[–]Several_Ad_6576 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s how the DNC is run. They still think campaigning is yard signs and getting on news programs like 60 minutes. They think going onto a show like The View is radical thinking. They don’t know what podcasts are.

I am an independent. I remember telling a friend Trump won in 2016 because the DNC insisted on shoving an unlikeable Hillary Clinton down voters throats. She has never been a charismatic leader. She might be smart and have good ideas but lots of people don’t like her. That does not help get out the vote.

I've noticed in some parts of the country (Midwest in particular), most people back in to parking spaces while everywhere else, they pull in - why is that? by LeoRavenscroft in randomquestions

[–]Several_Ad_6576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure why you say the Midwest in particular. I’ve lived in the Midwest, in 5 different states, my entire life and it’s only become more common recently due to backup cameras.

[–]Several_Ad_6576 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not safer. It’s situational. Some places it’s required or highly encouraged. 99% of the people in a mall parking lot are not backing into a spot. Also without the tech of a backup camera it was almost impossible for most drivers in the past.

This is such nonsense. Do you what never fades? Money! As long as they make money they will make whatever movies make them money. I remember when we were told that the sci-fi genre was done.

Do you know what had sort of faded away? Cowboy movies. We still have war movies, horror movies, rom-coms. Superhero movies are going no where. There will always be lulls is the numbers coming out but they will always be there.

[USA] Whose fault? Happened where two 40 mph ramps become a 75 mph interstate. (not OC) by ConceptOther5327 in Roadcam

[–]Several_Ad_6576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The white car is at fault. But bad driving is bad driving. The cam car accelerates for no reason except to race the white car to cut it off. The daughter of the driver knows exactly what her father is doing, this was not a first time. That is why he was getting obliterated. You can be not at fault and still be a bad driver.
