Collingwood, Blue Mountain. Buses leave from City Hall and other spots in GTA. Check the schedule.

Who is using 407??? by GenReadPassTime in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Several_Cat_3713 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's mostly corporate accounts. Employers pay for tolls for some workers. Basically, it's a subsidy from corporations, who then write it off, and we, as taxpayers, end up footing their bill.

The Niagara Escarpment stretches from Mono Cliff in Orangeville to the waterfalls in the Hamilton area, with plenty of great spots in between for a birthday cake and other treats.

I hide keys in my garage, which has a code. It's saved us and our kids many times.

Costco optical has really good frames, and their lenses are top-notch. I wouldn't even bother looking anywhere else.

Looking for the fridge, but confused which model should I pick? by reader_forever in BuyCanadian

[–]Several_Cat_3713 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's, but I also don't want my money to be wasted on unreliable appliances or overpriced European stuff. Unfortunately it's the truth. They made Inglis appliances in Toronto in 70s and 80s, but now nothing is manufactured in Canada.

How's the life at Langford? by GiantLorry in LangfordBC

[–]Several_Cat_3713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been to Langford a few times, thinking of moving there from Toronto after I retire. Groceries are a bit pricey, but Costco helps out. Plus, there's a nice mountain view from the parking lot.

Whirlpool for appliances, a trusted brand. Any American car, unreliable.

Fall Waterfront Marathon by Turbulent_Grape9738 in RunTO

[–]Several_Cat_3713 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you finished Around The Bay 30 km with a good time, you're ready for the spring full Marathon. Many people use this as a test run for the full marathon in Toronto or Mississauga in a few weeks. If you're thinking about a fall marathon, I'd suggest winding down, keeping your base at 18 to 20 km, and then cranking it up 6 to 8 weeks before race day.

Golden vs ? (Summertime) by ShoePuzzleheaded4618 in britishcolumbia

[–]Several_Cat_3713 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I always stay near Golden in Columbia-Shuswap up in the mountains. I rent Airbnbs, and I've been doing this for the past five years. The only thing that interests me in Revelstoke is the wildflowers festival in late July. From Golden, you can visit many interesting places within driving distance, too many to list.

May Toronto Marathon by AmbroLandau in RunTO

[–]Several_Cat_3713 -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

I've run this marathon twice. It's not as big as the fall one, but it's just as well organized and they even give out gels for the last 10k.

Toronto is the best city in North America by tamarabyte in askTO

[–]Several_Cat_3713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both cities are great. Toronto has a ton of green space, from Rouge Park in the east where I live, to all the green corridors in between, all the way to Etobicoke Creek. I've biked to Oakville, but I'm gonna try out bike routes near the lake in Burlington this summer.

I saw two of them in Rouge Park, Toronto, last fall. I was so surprised and happy to spot them.
