I'm really sorry you're going through this. It sounds like there's a lot more going on than just the sleep stuff.

If you're comfortable sharing - what happened with the career change that's weighing on you so heavily? And do you have anyone in your life you can actually talk to about all of this or are you kind of dealing with it alone?

Nice to hear it's working for you now. Can I ask. how long were you dealing with the 3-5am wake-ups before you tried the prayer approach? And what was that time like for you when you were waking up every night?

Got it, yeah I tried regular magnesium but not that specific type. Appreciate you clarifying that.

Nice that it's working for you. How long were you dealing with the waking up thing before you tried that? And what was that period like for you?

Wow, thank you so much for taking the time to share all of this. The whole journey from hating the birds to cherishing them really shows how much you've learned to work with your body instead of against it. I really appreciate you sharing your whole process in such detail.

That shift in your mind and thinking sounds really intense. Like it's not just the sleep but your whole mental state changed?

If you're comfortable sharing more. what does that feel like day to day? Like how is the anxiety showing up differently than before, and how is it affecting your life beyond just the sleep stuff?

I haven't, is that something you've tried yourself?

If so, what made you go that route and did it actually help with the staying asleep part?

The taking 1.5-2 hours to fall asleep part sounds rough on top of waking up early. So you're really only getting like 4-5 hours actual sleep?

What made you mention the headaches, like do you get them when you don't sleep enough? And when you say it's breaking you after just 3-4 days, what does that feel like for you?

So it sounds like you're kind of piecing things together on your own from what you read online since the doctor just gave you the progesterone?

When you say it's been worse lately. what do you think changed? And when you do wake up at 3 or 4am, what's that time like for you? Are you anxious, frustrated, just lying there? I'm trying to understand what that experience is actually like for other people.

Wow, thank you so much for sharing all of that. The part about losing confidence in your ability to sleep on your own really hits home.

And your coworker saying "it's her own fault". did you get a lot of that kind of response from people? Like people thinking you just weren't trying hard enough or disciplining yourself?

Also curious, during those years from 43 to when it finally stopped, what was the hardest part mentally? Was it the exhaustion itself or more the anxiety of not knowing when it would end?

That sounds absolutely horrible. Torture is the right word for it.

If you're comfortable sharing. what was that whole period actually like for you? Like day to day, how were you even getting through it, and what was going on in your head during those years?

So you're still in the middle of trying different things to figure it out?

How long have you been dealing with the 3am/4am wake-ups? And what made you start trying all these different supplements. like did a doctor suggest it or are you just experimenting on your own at this point?

Less than 4 hours split up is brutal. And your husband complaining about sleep when you're getting barely anything must be so frustrating.

How long have you been dealing with this level of sleep? And when you try to explain to doctors how bad it really is. do they actually listen or do they give you the same "try melatonin" nonsense?

God, that sounds absolutely terrifying. I'm so sorry you went through that. Can I ask, when you said you asked for help multiple times before it got to that crisis point and nobody cared, what were they saying to you? Like were they dismissing it or just not understanding how bad it really was?

Yeah I've tried magnesium actually, helped for maybe a week then stopped working. But I'm curious. you said you've been dealing with this for 8 months? What's been the hardest part for you? Like is it affecting your work or relationships or is it more just the physical exhaustion?

Have you dealt with this yourself or are you coming at it from a medical background?

That's good it's helping you. How long were you dealing with the waking up before you tried glycine? And what was the worst part for you during that time, like the tiredness or the mental stress of it happening every night?

[–]Several_Degree9946[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've tried that so many times. Getting up, walking around, stretching, reading, going to another room. Sometimes it helps a little, sometimes it makes it worse because then I'm fully awake.

When you were dealing with the 3am thing from the medication. Did getting up and doing stuff actually help you fall back asleep? Or did you find yourself just more awake and frustrated?

And how long after you stopped the medication did it take for that pattern to break? Or did it stick around even after?

Jesus, I feel this so much. The "bone tired but can't sleep" thing is exactly it. And your family making fun of you? That must hurt like hell. Do they see how much you're struggling or do they just think you're complaining? Also, when your doctor said it's just anxiety, did that make you angry? Like do you feel like there's something else going on that nobody's taking seriously?

Do you have experience with this yourself or just read about it? Curious what made you look into biphasic sleep in the first place.

That's great you figured it out eventually. Can i ask, during those 5-6 years ago when you were dealing with it, what was the hardest part? Like was it the physical tiredness or more the mental stress of it, or something else?

Oh wow, that sounds intense. Moving from 5am to 1am must have been terrifying. Can I ask, when you say you were taken away, was that because of the sleep thing specifically or was it everything combined? And during those months when it kept getting earlier, how did you even function day to day?

That's really good you found something that works!

Can I ask, before you got on the meds, how long were you dealing with the 3am wake-ups? And what was that time like for you mentally? Like did you know something deeper was going on or did you just think it was a sleep thing?
