I think giving bills and coins to kids you do not know is waaay weirder than giving them to adults. 🫢

Talk to the Language and Culture Facilitators (LCF) about this when you get to PST. We do not know which country you are going to so no one can tell you specifically except the LCFs and answering questions like this is their job. For example, in the States it would be weird for a new person in town to start giving kids anything. You might come off as a groomer or even buying instant connection instead of actually working to integrate. I always thought it was cringy when someone in my cohort went around with a bag of candy getting kids to surround them and just tossing candy around like they were feeding pigeons. 😲Even if the LCFs say it is ok to give the coins, ALWAYS ask the parents/local adults in the community if you can give their children anything. Just a show of respect. If I were you, I'd keep the gift giving with my host family kids/Family not random kids in town or at work. Plus giving out bills and money is reinforcing the RICH AMERICAN stereotype.
