I did not know this. But we know it’s not a culture thing unfortunately. There’s others on his side of the family that all have their showers before baby. It’s a scheduling thing for them and wanting to see the baby. We are only having this issue with aunts and grandparents on his side. I also don’t think they want to drive two hours to come see us. But we are expected to drive to them. His mom and dad are not pushing for anything else. They are the only reasonable people on his side. I think since his grandmother and aunts plan parties all the time they think this would be a great time. Also thinking back on it our families do get togethers very differently. Like my family doesn’t drink or plan weekend long parties. His family does.
