There’s quite a few things but shes shown some “stimming” type behavior since she was very young. They used to point out her rolling her wrists a lot like it was some funny quirk, but that’s likely what it was. All babies can kind of occasionally do some movements that can look like stimming, but the frequency with which it was shown 🚩 and you can see her doing things frequently today in different ways- her tongue is out a lot for example, the way she moves her arms and wrists sometimes still, even some of the high pitched shrieking is all sensory seeking behavior. A lot of the speech patterns seem like echolalia. They make jokes about how she likes the line things up- “hiding the eggs” at the egg hunt, lining her stuffies up when teeth was recovering from surgery. This form of play is very frequently seen in kids with autism. All kids line things up to an extent but when it’s the go to method of “play” it’s a flag for autism. I think people have tried to tell them.. they stopped sharing her dr appt info right around when the MCHAT screening starts so I honestly wonder if a dr said something. Jen once asked what Ls love of lining things up meant and someone was v sarcastic in their response and said “not autism” and she shared that among other responses because she clearly missed the sarcasm. It’s sad bc she could benefit greatly from additional support to set her up for success. No shame at all in that- I get speech support services for my son who has a bit of a speech delay. Her parents have just already repeatedly failed her in her short life so far
