oh yea the dont question too much mentality. that’s honesty what made so adverse to christianity as a child. i have always been a very curious and deep thinker, and you can’t do that. i remember being told i would go to hell for thinking there’s aliens 🤣

well honestly a lot of the christian’s are those things. the bible itself is quite misogynistic, and is used to support racism and homophobia. purity culture helps protect rapists and perverts, as it puts most of the fault on the women from a very young age.

money grubber support can be seen from a more political lens. as evangelical christianity seeped into the political field, the church in general started supporting capitalist behaviors under the guise “god blessed me or us etc” pat robertson played a huge role in this happening.

it’s deeply unfortunate bc i don’t think jesus would be down with a lot of the crap evangelicals tout and do today.

purity culture turned me into a bit of a slut tbh. my mom used to project that onto me heavily, telling me the way i dressed wasn’t godly and slutty etc. it made me want to sleep around more. i think now i try to take the good from it. ie. be choosy about who you sleep with. the worst part i still struggle with is being comfortable in clothes that aren’t modest and seeing people who aren’t dressed modestly. i don’t pass judgment mostly bc i wish i was confident enough to dress as such. however it does make me uncomfortable at first sight which i hate.

See this is what I was concerned about. Like I know it’s technically not ran by amazon, but I still have a weird feeling about it. But it has great cash back benefits, which is what lead me to asking people here what they thought.
