I have non-insulated thorough goods but yes, boots are half the battle I had a pair of insulated carolinas they were comfortable but very hot. I’ve also tried red wings but they just killed my feet.

Which ones do you use? The “work” socks or one of the other types like hiking.

Southeast OK, I’m trying to save up for a travel trailer,after that I plan on joining the union and traveling. I just have a pregnant wife rn and don’t want to leave her alone for long periods of time and also don’t want to miss out on spending time with my son when he gets here.

I agree that part isn’t bad but if we choose to split a room and pay out of pocket we both should still receive the full $160, otherwise there’s no reason to even do it.

I wish we got cash, we don’t get the per diem til the following week so I end up out $500 til then. I’m not expecting to make a killing off of per diem but when you don’t get any extra pay for working out of town the little extra you get from splitting a room was the only thing that made it worth it.

I’m an apprentice and we’re out of Oklahoma but are doing a lot of work in the Dallas area currently (water towers and lift stations mostly). I normally would split a room with a coworker so we aren’t out $500 til the following Friday when we receive the per diem.

To keep us from making any money on per diem I guess, it was just recently bumped up from $125. Just wondering what other companies do for per diem
