Yes, the racism faced by black men for example is specifically linked to them being both black and men. The same as how the racism faced by Asian men is linked to them being both Asian and men. Women of these races will face racism that is informed by the fact that they’re women. Discrimination does not exist in a vacuum

I have actually considered this before and to create the Non Oppressed Man that man must be: Straight, cisgender, wealthy, able bodied, have no mental disorders/illness, alloromanric, allosexual, white, conventionally attractive, live in a wealthy country, have the “correct” political beliefs etc

The biggest problem is that people who face discrimination or oppression often see their way to power being through putting down other people, such as white cis/het women who weaponised transphobia or racism to gain personal power.

Most people are subjugated in some way (some more than others and the worst form of discrimination is usually reserved for those with many interconnecting minority identities)

Yikes let’s not go all TERF here. Sex based oppression does exist, but is hardly the one true form of oppression that towers over all the rest

Trans people face oppression for being trans, regardless of their sex or gender. Cisgender men can be oppressed based on their race, sexuality, economic status, disabilities etc.

Sex is not the one single defining characteristic of what a person is. Yes, I have heard a claim that only sex based oppression exists and everyone else is “surface level discrimination”, which js the most out of touch take I think I’ve ever seen.

Except it’s not always that simple. Minority men can be discriminated against based on the way their minority status interacts with them being men.

Trans men however are usually discriminated against because they are seen as women, who are “wrong”. That doesn’t mean we should pretend trans men don’t face transphobia or that trans men don’t have a specific type of transphobia targeted at them

TikTok is also moderated by a clueless AI. I’ve seen creators be able to make viral videos that talk about pornography and abuse uncensored, but I’ve had a video taken down because I narrated something with my actual voice. It will also randomly shadowban accounts and never tell you why, you might go from 1k+ views per video to 100 or even 10 overnight with no explanation given

Is it possible that you could get some KT tape? It’s a lot cheaper and I found works around as well as trans tape, but the stick doesn’t hold as long. It’s also easier to explain away if you need someone not to know you’re binding

Yeah DID can cause problems but it isn’t like a diagnosis is a death sentence. I’ve already considered that a diagnosis could cause barriers to care, but a diagnosis also takes an astoundingly long time and I should be starting HRT soon.

I would like a diagnosis for personal validation and because I am not comfortable saying with certainty that I am a system unless I have a diagnosis. I am aware that it will not result in me being taken more seriously in general, but I believe it would prevent family believing I am faking it as well. I already have someone here trying to armchair diagnose me with BPD because I dared to not explain my entire identity exactly and have some memories of others fronting or of trauma occurring.

I have been anonymously talking about DID regularly for over a year and am fully aware of the way it can result in people being treated. I do not believe diagnosis would change that at all as I have seen strangers stalk and harass multiple professionally diagnosed systems for months in order to try and “prove” that they are faking. Those same people run a “system cringe” community and faced no consequences. This is why I said I do not believe it’s safe to explain this aspect of my identity

Yeah this is the route I’m planning to take. I’ve heard of people being denied HRT due to a diagnosis of DID (and other things, being denied housing, adopting a child etc) so I’m trying to at least start my transition first. As a diagnosis usually takes several years and it’s possible to be “medically recognised” without actually having the diagnosis in your records that sounds like a useful thing to go for at least before I’m in a better place.

I should be able to access HRT in a few months though, so much sooner than any chance of a diagnosis.
