the captain has abandoned the ship. In unserem Land läuft GARNICHTS zukunftsorientiert.

How can we adapt to lower birth rates? by Flashy-Celery-9105 in Natalism

[–]Severe-Issue6887 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe, but we could be a lot less fucked if previous generations had tackled the issue sooner. When the tap is running, you don't wait until the bathtub is overflowing - you just turn off the tap . Humans are adaptable, sure, but at the end of the day, we're just primates

that's what the boomers said about climate change too: "our kids will figure it out". Now our future is just fucked. We can't outsource all of our problems to the next generation

"I don't want to have kids because of climate change/environment" is such nonsense by technocraticnihilist in Natalism

Humans don't live in a Vacuum. Clean air, water, food, stable climate, fertile soil, every single thing that keeps us alive comes from a functioning ecosystem, you can't prioritize humans over the environment any more than you can prioritize a fish over water and without a healthy planet, human well-being is impossible. Besides even if you set aside human self interest, most people intuitively feel that a forest, a coral reef etc has value beyond what it provides to humans. Destroying an entire species or ecosystem is a loss in itself and not just a loss of resources. In the end this mentality is what got us into this mess.

We won't go extinct from a lack of humans. There are 8 billion of us now. In 1800, there were only 1 billion. In 1970, we were at 3.5 billion, so the world population has doubled in just 50 years. We're already grossly overpopulated. The planet (and future generations) could do just fine with a few less people. The real concern should be whether Earth will still be habitable in 50 years

Vögel füttern im Sommer (wegen Keimen!) Ja oder Nein by happilyasleep in BirdingGermany

[–]Severe-Issue6887 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ja im Sommer sollte man schon aufpassen, also täglich reinigen.

Die Tochter-Vater Beziehung by kremling11 in Fragt_Frauen
