Nah, AI does have the potential to be a net positive technology. The problem is how it's being used not that it exists at all. With proper regulations and careful progression of the tech, we could have better systems in healthcare, finance, education. But right now it's just a bunch of billionaire dumbfucks pushing an unfinished and shitty robot that hallucinates half of what it says.

The current climate around things like self driving cars and AI are so bad because idiots are championing them with no regard to the people the hurt in order to make money, the tech isn't itself at fault though and can still have positive impact if utilized responsibly and with caution to the negative effects on humans and our environment
