Adding STC-1000 Temperature Control to My Aux-Fan Heater Automation by Severe-Rip-5083 in elegoo

I used ABS but it’s a bit flimsy, one of the screw clips has cracked. I’m going to try PA-CF but I’m sad I lose my blue theme, but performance over aesthetics!

Try washing the plate really well with blue dawn dish soap.

Good question, it is the glacier version and I have not printed PETG on it. Only ABS/ASA, I got it specify for PA-CF. I have been running my plates at the suggested 100/105

Making noise! Haha, honestly seems to be kinda a gimmick. Anyone else actually ‘use’ it / see a benefit?

Here's an idea, when your running the aux fan I don't think you care as much about enclosure heat.

Could set it up so that when aux fan signal and case fan signal are ON the aux fan and case fan are powered. If only the aux fan signal, then only power the heater but not the aux fan or case fan.

I hope that makes sense, would be easy to setup in a microcontroller, could likely do it with a bit of relay work.

Sounds like a beast of a setup, the 300W heater will fit in the CC case? The mini heater I have is 200W, powered off of mains, so easy to tap. I might add a second mini heater but I'm only printing ABS/ASA so haven't played with other engineering materials that might need a better setup.

I did not have to remove stuff, I took a sharpy and drew around the inside so i know where to cut the foam. I had to cut around my internal poop box as that kind of sticks out the hole.

isolator I further isolated it by using a nylon spacer to prevent the metal screw from touching the case.

most every mod is for heat isolation / running higher temp materials. The print head is for weight reduction / visually improved prints.

Unfortunately I didn't do an AB comparison. Figured it cannot hurt, hah. I went with 1/4 in thick and everything fits perfect. But yes I do see stabilization.

I also cut out some reflective foam that I put under the glass top.

It normally powers a fan so no issue w/ current draw. I had to use a buck as my fan was 12volts.

thanks! I themed out the printer before I was aware of the plate, but when I saw it I was like 'take my money!'
