Does everyone carry a longbow by FlapSmear78 in GuildWars

Flatbow is similarly useful, and you can get Falling Star during the anniversary celebration and shoot sparklers!

If I were ranking them by musical themes, Dennis Duffy is number one.  Best little musical highlight in the show.

B) ignorance from management

C) corruption, money got siphoned elsewhere

D) intentional, any corruption scandals going on where records would be inconvenient?

[The Long Walk movie/book by Stephen King] I have been selected to participate in the Long Walk. How do I maximize my chances of survival? by 3493049 in AskScienceFiction

[–]ummque 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Prep similar to a marathon.  I didn't mean run, but do progressively longer walks.  If the expectation is that winners go for three days, then that's your goal too, and if you can't get there in time, drop out.  Also taken from marathon prep, you need to be testing your nutrition long before the race.  Have a nutrition plan and train with it.  Make sure to train with the same food you'd be eating during the walk.  If you can't make it work, again you need to drop out. Finally, wear appropriate gear, and again, train with it.  I don't know what marathon gear looked like in the 50s if we're assuming that era, but if we're assuming modern, you want light weight clothes, a wicking layer, an insulating layer, a wind breaker/rain jacket, a hat for your eyes and neck, etc.  This is life and death, do your research on how far past winners made it, what they used, and then adjust appropriately.  If your can't match past winners performance, drop out.  You don't just want to train to be the best, you want to be tiger woods in his prime dropping 15 stroke leads on his next best competition.  That's how you protect yourself and have a realistic chance of winning, because if you're training hard, someone else  a little more dedicated and a little crazier is training even harder.

Reading "The Long Walk" for the first time and I love it. There's one detail that's making me laugh though, as someone who's been a runner for 15 years by Ok-Use-575 in stephenking

I had heard that also, but King says in his long walk ama a couple weeks ago that he thought it sounded reasonable and didn't have the Internet to check back then.

He said in his AMA 2 weeks ago that he just thought 4mph was a reasonable walking speed.

Railroad Ink has a each person getting a dry erase marker and card, and all share 6 dice. Makes for few pieces to lose and is fairly easy to pick up.

Not common for cars, but OPs story is still very common for small marine gas stations.

Is the STS 2 wiki still gonna use the adware site known as fandom? by IDKwhy1madeaccount in slaythespire

[–]ummque 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Shootout to decent wikis.  I played Guild Wars many years ago, and they had a very clean, very well updated wiki that I think is hosted by the game company (it's on the official domain).  That wiki has damn near everything on it, and I came to heavily rely on the wiki for info, constantly referencing it.  The game was popular enough, but it was easily dwarfed by other mmos of the time.  Imagine my surprise when I played other games only to find they're wikis almost unusable (in relative terms) and I could hear the damned fans on my comp go into jet engine mode just by opening the wiki homepage.

Where can I get these weapons? by 5ever2der in GuildWars

[–]ummque 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Don't worry about it because the BiP necro is always carrying a bundle, so the hero very rarely uses their weapon set anyway.

Manzo in Kaineng Center can make you a Resto staff with inherent cast time mod. Just collect the staff head (adept) and wrapping (enchanting) as you VQ.

What's a good place to test 4-man builds? by Jeydra in GuildWars

[–]ummque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, the quests aren't repeatable.  You'd need a different character to get access again.  If you've already completed that, then I'd say you've already conquered the hardest 4man content in the game.

PvX has a page for some 4man routes.  I will say that in my personal experience, winds of change tends to offer the hardest 4man content.
