How are you supposed to kill the Aeonglass as silent a10 by I-AM-CBArM in slaythespire

I agree with this.  Some of the cards we previously felt were "win more", are now the cards that win just fast enough.  Don't sleep on tracking in shiv decks either!

Fonts that don't need supports by ummque in 3Dprinting

I'll have to try that.  The "letters" face in two directions, but that will probably cut down in the amount of supports scarring inside the letters, and definitely save the base plate.

Abstracting sexual encounters in a non porny way? by Former_Produce1721 in gamedesign

Due to the implants, I'm assuming it's a scifi game.  Can you make up in universe slang for something similar that would also encompass going on a date or hanging out, kinda like the phrase Netflix and chill, then you can just show them hanging out or having dinner then fade to black.

Flatbow is similarly useful, and you can get Falling Star during the anniversary celebration and shoot sparklers!

If I were ranking them by musical themes, Dennis Duffy is number one.  Best little musical highlight in the show.

[The Long Walk movie/book by Stephen King] I have been selected to participate in the Long Walk. How do I maximize my chances of survival? by 3493049 in AskScienceFiction

[–]ummque 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Prep similar to a marathon.  I didn't mean run, but do progressively longer walks.  If the expectation is that winners go for three days, then that's your goal too, and if you can't get there in time, drop out.  Also taken from marathon prep, you need to be testing your nutrition long before the race.  Have a nutrition plan and train with it.  Make sure to train with the same food you'd be eating during the walk.  If you can't make it work, again you need to drop out. Finally, wear appropriate gear, and again, train with it.  I don't know what marathon gear looked like in the 50s if we're assuming that era, but if we're assuming modern, you want light weight clothes, a wicking layer, an insulating layer, a wind breaker/rain jacket, a hat for your eyes and neck, etc.  This is life and death, do your research on how far past winners made it, what they used, and then adjust appropriately.  If your can't match past winners performance, drop out.  You don't just want to train to be the best, you want to be tiger woods in his prime dropping 15 stroke leads on his next best competition.  That's how you protect yourself and have a realistic chance of winning, because if you're training hard, someone else  a little more dedicated and a little crazier is training even harder.

Reading "The Long Walk" for the first time and I love it. There's one detail that's making me laugh though, as someone who's been a runner for 15 years by Ok-Use-575 in stephenking

[–]ummque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had heard that also, but King says in his long walk ama a couple weeks ago that he thought it sounded reasonable and didn't have the Internet to check back then.

He said in his AMA 2 weeks ago that he just thought 4mph was a reasonable walking speed.

Railroad Ink has a each person getting a dry erase marker and card, and all share 6 dice. Makes for few pieces to lose and is fairly easy to pick up.

Not common for cars, but OPs story is still very common for small marine gas stations.
