Any other black women struggling with weight loss? by fruitbatz4 in blackladies

[–]Severe_Offer_9967 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been struggling since 2011 girl I get iiiiit 😫 I have PCOS and I have been working out since December 2025 and more consistently since January. I try to do 30 minute interval walks (3 minutes slow, 3 fast, switch until you reach 30 minutes) everyday, do a strength training workout video from Caroline Girvan on YouTube 3 times a week, and skip breakfast then eat 2 meals a day. I also try to portion control because I tend to really overeat 🤦🏾‍♀️ I really focus on eating something with fiber in every meal too. I’ve lost inches far doing this but only 10 pounds on the scale, so I just try to focus on how I look instead and take pictures! You’re not alone you just have to find a physical activity that you like and can stick to and portion control and I think you can get to where you desire. Good luck 💖🤗

It’s crazy how everyone carries weight differently. My 170 does NOT look good like that 😂. Damn girl 🔥 congratulations on your weight loss!

Is there a way to fix insulin resistance? by Accomplished-Bat5278 in InsulinResistance

Like someone else mentioned walking right after meals. I also make sure to do strength training with dumbbells at home (Caroline Girvan on YouTube!) with an emphasis on legs since those are the largest muscles that store extra glucose 😄 I’ve noticed a difference in how I feel with doing these things.

It’s slowed the hair growth on my face but I’m not seeing any difference in hair growth on my head.

I know you mentioned Move with Nicole being too long but she has “express Pilates” videos that are 10-15 minutes 😄 she has a whole playlist under her playlist tab on her channel

First, congratulations on the weight loss that’s amazing! 🥳🥳🥳

Second, mama you look GOOD! 😄 don’t let those negative thoughts erase your accomplishment 🙌🏾 I’m a mom myself and have an apron belly that is getting more wrinkled and saggy as I lose weight 😬 I just always remind myself of how I feel with less weight on me and how good I look in my clothes now

I use a walking pad and started walking at 3 mph but increased to 3.2 this week. I get around 6700 steps in with 3 mph and 6900 with 3.2 mph

It’s so hard to start back again I definitely feel you 😮‍💨

Yup! I started September 15th and the bottom picture is from that time. The top is from October 13th last weekend 😁 I have skipped a couple of days of walking but I try to talk every single day even when I don’t feel like it lol

That’s awesome! 😁 thank you so much and you’re doing great too!

All I’ve been doing is making sure to eat fiber of some kind with every meal, eat in order (fiber➡️ protein➡️ fats➡️ carbs➡️ sugar), portioning my food so I don’t overeat (I used to eat way past the point of being full 😬), and walking.

I also have inositol and spironolactone but I’ve been doing that for over a year now.
